🟣My law lecturer indirectly guided me towards creating this platform when they encouraged me to continue doing both law and performance art 🎭⚖️
🟣Can you recall a moment or conversation with a teacher that led you to where you are today? #6yearsofCreativesRights #teachersday
🎉Happy #InternationalDanceDay! For this dance day, I’m celebrating how the discipline of dance has shaped me and my legal career.
📚For legal purposes, I am not actually doing this at my law office. I be buried in paperwork 😭 #dancememes

Happy Women’s Day to the women who take charge of their own narrative. 🤎 To the “unconventional” WOMEN… To the women visionaries, Founders and CEOS, this message is especially for you:
👉🏿 There was a time when married women were unable to own property, and that included intellectual property. Unmarried women could legally own property, but many still faced social and economic barriers that often forced them to publish their work under male names. & Black people could not own property at this point in history. So the right to own our ideas, our art, and our voices is something generations of women fought for (still fighting for).
👉🏿 Unfortunately, even in the midst of celebrating womanhood, we must acknowledge that there is still a long way to go. But often, I think about how proud our ancestors would be to know that women now have agency and occupy spaces we were once told we were not intelligent or capable enough to enter.
👉🏿As an attorney, and even more so as an artist, I often interrogate the ways in which I can contribute to this world. And for now, I’ve reconciled with that fact that while authentic self-expression may not directly solve the issues that plague our world, there is power in women who live boldly and truthfully.
👉🏿 And WOW, what a blessing it is to be gifted, Afro-Caribbean, and… WOMAN 💁🏿♀️
🎉 Happy Birthday to me 🎉
Often times the only legal–artistic person in the room… still real, still whole, still me.
So when people ask, are you:
A. Lawyer B. Dancer C. Actress D. Model
The answer is (E) for everything, and all of the above.
So grateful to God for another year, and the ability to express every dimension of self 🙏🏿
💎Phase I: The [Re] Introduction. Every time I run into someone who hasn’t seen me in a long time they always ask “Yuh still dancing”. I love this question because it reveals two things:
1️⃣ how much people naturally identify me with the art form;
2️⃣ It feels like their way of asking me “how are you?”
💎 Dance has evolved for me for sure. Years ago when I started to pursue acting, that was one evolution of my dance journey in some abstract way. But this year… This year, I claimed proper authorship of my performance art through @malcolmperformingarts . This year, I vowed to keep performance art ALIVE and pass it on to others eager to LEARN.
💎I’ll be honest, this year was the worst year of my life but officially starting my performing arts company was top two best part of the year🙏🏿 So here’s to the #HappyNewYear2026: still the same Rushell Malcolm, still demanding and particular (see second slide 😅 for context the convo started by him saying “yuh demanding ennuh”) and still committed to motivating the next generation of performers.
& Yes, I’ll ALWAYS be dancing … cz if I stop running now, the whole game freeze 🤭🫣 Follow and book @malcolmperformingarts to be part of the journey.
Happy holidays from my beautiful hometown of Montego Bay, Saint James 💖 It was so relieving to see the greenery and life returning to the parish. I spent the entire holiday soaking up the Christmas breeze, the joy of children riding their bicycles through the neighborhood, and the laughter of my favourite people.
Truthfully, it’s been a tough year, but I’m very grateful for another Christmas season with my loved ones (even though they’re probably tired of me directing them to get the perfect photo for me - see second slide 😭). 🙏🏿
