Tomorrow night, the Cork International Film Festival will present the world premiere of Padraig Trehy's new feature film, Stupid August, shot by me, and presented with a live orchestra in the Curtis Concert Hall of my alma mater, the MTU Cork School of Music.
This beautiful film (I didn’t say that, they did!) will be presented in two ways at CIFF—one with John O’Brien’s gorgeous music live, and again this coming Sunday in the Arc with the recorded score. This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and rewarding projects I have ever worked on, and it will be a real pleasure to see it on the big screen.
This handsome gentleman is Con (short for Cornelius, if that means nothing to you, you missed growing up in Ireland) he is Lydia’s other half and a total unit of a rook, this is him explaining why second breakfast is required
This is my friend Lydia, she lives down the field with her 3 (very) noisy kids and partner, every morning she arrives for breakfast which she pays for with tiny shiny stones
