MVHR filter change day… Our house is a near complete EnerPHit (PassivHaus for retro-fit) located in central Winchester, Hampshire. The MVHR is in the roof, with intake and exhaust at high level, where you might think the air is clean, meaning filtration would not be required. Some of the family have severe asthma and others are bad hayfever sufferers - the MVHR makes a difference. Alongside the health benefits there are the energy savings and improvements in comfort.
Indoor air quality is not generally good in the uk, the norm - System 1 (B’Regs Part F): background ventilators (trickle vents) and intermittent extract fans (bathroom, wc etc), often under perform in providing fresh air.
System 4 with continuous Mechanical (supply and extract) Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) ensures good internal air quality and is one of the key principles behind PassivHaus.

The choice of tile was inspired by one of MCMA Partner, @rupertcook 's previous projects, the Aston Martin Owners Club which won an RIBA conservation award. The clay tiles are individually made by hand, giving them each a unique finish which, when laid next to one another create a gorgeous textured effect.
