You can’t fake consistency. And you can’t deny history. ⁣ ⁣ Sometimes you don’t realise what you’ve built until you stop and take it all in.⁣ ⁣ I’m into my 9th year of helping combat athletes — giving them the care they deserve and building a movement for the next wave of therapists who want to do the same.⁣ ⁣ Watching the athletes grow, being in rooms Id have only dreamed about as a kid and watching the game evolve — it’s doubled down in every way.⁣ ⁣ I’ll always be grateful for what the combat world has shown me and for the people I’ve met along the way. ⁣ Almost 10 years down. A lifetime to go.⁣ ⁣ Earned, not given. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #clutch #combatphysio ⁣

60 second rehab breakdown.⁣ ⁣ For everyone following along, documenting this journey has been one of the biggest things keeping me accountable through recovery.⁣ ⁣ This video is basically a quick breakdown of the phases of my rehab so far and the thought process behind how we’re planning everything out moving forward.⁣ ⁣ Tendon rehab is a long game and there’ll be plenty of ups and downs along the way but right now we’re hitting the markers we need to at this stage.⁣ ⁣ If this journey helps even one person better understand their own rehab process or feel less alone whilst going through injury, then it’s worth sharing.⁣ ⁣ Long road ahead. We keep building.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #recovery #biceprupture #boxing #physicaltherapy

Weeks 3 & 4 — Lessons from Recovery Weeks 3 and 4 done. Definitely felt a pretty big shift over the last two weeks. Getting out of the cast and finally being able to move again made a massive difference. My range started improving pretty quickly and mentally that helped a lot too. I’m now locked into a movable brace until week 6, but compared to the cast it honestly feels freeing. At this point I just feel like an Indian Robocop, which has made things a bit more fun. I’ve been able to get back into some proper lower body work and a bit more upper body training within reason, which has been huge for my headspace. We also went over to Bali for a little work trip with the team and I honestly think that helped me more than I realised. The change of scenery and environment was really good for me mentally. It was nice being somewhere where I didn’t feel constantly switched on. Pain-wise things are definitely settling, but it still flares up pretty quickly if I overdo it. I definitely made a couple of mistakes this week trying to stretch my capacity a bit too much. Did a tiny bit of boxing and pushed things harder than I probably should have, but luckily I had three therapists around me all week acting like my safety hammock. That was a good reminder that even though I’m progressing, I still need to respect where I’m at. Physio’s been going well. I’ve been diligent with rehab, training and staying consistent without trying to be a hero with the left arm. Headspace overall is definitely better. If anything, the lesson now is just pulling the reins in a little and being smarter with my energy and decisions. Next stop is week 6 with the surgeon. Now it’s just patience, staying resilient and trusting the process. #physio #recovery #travel #biceprupture

Week 2 was tough. ⁣ ⁣ Different to week 1. Less swelling, but more pain, more irritation… and mentally a bit heavier.⁣ ⁣ I felt vulnerable at times. Even a bit useless. Having your arm immobilised and completely incapable of use is hard to deal with. The head noise definitely crept in more this week—that was probably the biggest battle.⁣ ⁣ But there were some big wins too.⁣ ⁣ The cast finally came off. That alone felt like a step forward. The surgeon was happy with how it’s healing, how the bicep looks, where it’s sitting. I’m happy with that too.⁣ ⁣ But it’s stiff. There’s a bit of nerve stuff. And honestly, the weirdest part was the fear. Even just letting my arm hang by my side… it felt like gravity or even the air was too much. Like I was fragile. That was strange to deal with.⁣ ⁣ So yeah, there’s progress… but it also reminds me where I’m at. Weak. Tight. Restricted.⁣ ⁣ Had my first physio session as well. That felt like the real start. Got back into the gym environment too, which helped more than I expected. Just being there made me feel a bit more like myself again.⁣ ⁣ Headspace is better. Not perfect. Still have my days. But I’m pushing through.⁣ ⁣ And to be honest, I’m realising everything I tell my patients every day is exactly what I need right now lol⁣ ⁣ Structure. Intention. Consistency.⁣ ⁣ If I stick to that, and give myself a bit of grace, I’ll be alright.⁣ ⁣ Now the mission is simple: get my range back.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Patience. Consistency. Picking my moments.⁣ ⁣ Week 2 done.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #recovery #distalbicep #rupture #physicaltherapy

Usually I’m on the receiving end of dumb questions but I won’t lie, I’ve been quietly guilty of asking a few myself lately ⁣ ⁣ For my people, I can finally relate 😂😂⁣ ⁣ ⁣ My cast is off, still going slightly mad 😂⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #skit #recovery #sportsphysio physicaltherapy

The last couple of weeks have looked a little different.⁣ ⁣ Being forced to take a step back isn’t something I’m used to… but it’s been a blessing in disguise.⁣ ⁣ Less time on the tools, more time leading.⁣ Guiding the team.⁣ Managing cases behind the scenes.⁣ Making sure every single person that walks through our doors still gets the highest level of care.⁣ ⁣ Massive credit to my team.⁣ They’ve stepped up in every way.⁣ Not just to support me, but to uphold the standard we’ve built here at Clutch.⁣ ⁣ If I can’t be there treating you directly, just know I’m still in it.⁣ Overseeing.⁣ Refining.⁣ Making sure nothing slips.⁣ ⁣ Because at the end of the day, that’s the cornerstone of what we do.⁣ High performance care, no matter who you see.⁣ ⁣ This is what a morning at Clutch looks like.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #sydney #sportsphysio #treatment #recovery

Recently, CLUTCH turned 1!⁣ ⁣ And I found myself thinking… what better way to celebrate than with the people I spend most of my time with ; my team.⁣ ⁣ This year and the rebrand has been a lot. Growth, pressure, long days… but also a lot of wins. And I’m a big believer in celebrating those wins, both small and big, especially with the people you value.⁣ ⁣ As a younger clinician, I always wanted to build something I would’ve been proud to be a part of. Not just a workplace, but an environment… a culture… a movement.⁣ ⁣ And I think a big part of leadership is this; leading in a way that your younger self would’ve needed. Giving people the experience you once wished you had, guided by your own values and principles.⁣ ⁣ So this is a small way of doing that.⁣ ⁣ Surprised the team — we’re heading to Bali for our first retreat.⁣ We’re off from the 2nd of May to the 9th!⁣ ⁣ A week to train, to work, to connect, and to enjoy it together.⁣ ⁣ Keen to see my guys over at The Block, put in some good work, and experience everything Bali has to offer along the way.⁣ ⁣ See you on the other side 🇮🇩⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #physio #combatphysio #teamretreat #travel #bali physicaltherapy
