Less volume, more heart. ❤️‍🔥 2025 was a year of massive shifts: 📍 Relocating 🍼 New life as a parent 📑 Visa stress 🏃‍♂️ 2 Marathons in 6 weeks Despite the chaos and a tricky stomach at 38km, I walked away from the Melbourne Marathon with a 2-minute PB. ⏱️ The Strava stats don’t lie: my volume was down nearly 50% compared to last year. 📉 It wasn’t the “perfect” prep, but it was the perfect reminder that we are capable of so much more than we think when the pressure is on. Proof that progress isn’t always about doing more, it’s about making what you do count. Proud of this one. Thanks to @mattyferg21 and @runningxstrong for the planification and support!! 🙌

Melbourne HYROX Pro – THE MAIN EVENT The Pro race usually goes like this… burst out of the blocks full of confidence. Get hit for six and humbled by heavy sleds. You then realise you can’t run anywhere near as fast as you thought you could. Next, you have some back-and-forth conversations with your inferior self. You win that mental battle, then grind your way to the finish line. Even though I know the drill, it still surprises me every time how hard this challenge is. This was my second-fastest Pro time I’ve raced. Proud to be fit enough to compete with these weapons and help raise the standard in my age group. Time: 1:04.18 2nd place in the 40–44 age group 36 seconds off the win A huge positive was improving at my arch-nemesis - the burpees. Closing in on sub-3 minutes. I’m becoming more confident in strong finishes now. Gobbling up the lunges and wall balls, making up big ground. I want to give a big thanks to @bec_bfit She rides every rep, every station, full of belief in me. When the little voice of doubt creeps in, she’s always next to me giving me the truth: “You’ve got this!” Super grateful for @bradriddle21 & the team @hurtlockerrichmond for having me during this training block. The energy I’ve drawn from being in that environment has been so refreshing. Special mention to Chief Motivation Officer - @george_fkiaras always helps me find another gear when I need it most. 2025 was a big year of racing. The 2026 calendar is looking even larger. Back to the grindstone now to find a few more millimetres. 📸 @guyhollidayy @gonutritionau #HYROX #HYROXPro #AgeIsJustData

HYROX Solo Melbourne 2025 — Debut 🏁 | 1:24:54 Had an absolute blast competing in my first HYROX, capping off a huge year of racing. After the Melbourne Marathon in October and a short (but very necessary) recovery, I shifted into HYROX-specific running and gym-based training, with some brutal simulations to test the engine. The change of pace was exactly what I needed, and I’m convinced this block will have a massive carryover to my running moving forward. Heading into HYROX Melbourne, the plan was simple: manage heart rate, keep checking RPE, and lean into my running strength to make up time. With it being my first race, a time goal was TBD—but halfway through I realised sub-1:30 was on the cards. Lunges were by far the toughest, along with the sled push and burpee broad jumps, and the sled pull definitely needs some technical work. Huge thank you to @mattyferg21 for another unreal training block—I can’t thank you enough. And a special shoutout to the NAPA crew and my work colleagues who absolutely crushed the relay. We’ll meet again, HYROX. 💥

All the very best to the Running Strong squad who are throwing it down this week at HYROX Melbourne. Every athlete has a story, everyone has fought hard to overcome life’s obstacles to make it to the starting line. I couldn’t be more proud to see this! Time to go out there and enjoy the fun! @hyroxanz

The power of an achievable goal - Set one that is realistic. Then get after it with intent. ⏰ #runningstrong #marathonrunner Note - to prevent further investigation from @officialunofficialtime New York was late ‘24’ not ‘25’

Running 🏃‍♀️ and why I love it 🤍 When I was growing up, running was a huge outlet for me (even before I played soccer) at 11 years old, I’d take my dog for a run down to the park, do a lap and come home. Experiencing some stressful events as a child, running really gave me the best feeling and a huge relief from what had been happening. Throughout my life running has definitely been used as a tool to combat any mental struggles I’d been facing. Now becoming a mum, running still is used as a tool to combat the mental load being a mum I take on. It’s my little bit of time, where my mind has one thing to focus on and it’s a very freeing feeling. I ALWAYS come home feeling energised, positive and a happier mum to my kids. This is why I believe now, so many mums love running. Given the run today was for Beyond Blue, I find it fitting to mention the above. The smiles so many people were wearing at the event, the feeling of accomplishment, achievement. Looking around, I wonder how many people have used running as a great tool for mental health? Nearly all probably. Running and sport in general is still in my opinion such a HUGELY underrated and undervalued therapy for people suffering anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. So this is my message to anyone who does suffer mental health conditions: I won’t narrowly state that you should take up running but I will boldly state that you SHOULD move your body for mental health in whatever which way it is capable of doing so. #mentalhealth #beyondblue #beyondbluewellnessrun2025

Eyes 👀 on the prize 🏆 or in this case the finish line 🏁 😂 If I was to choose a cause to run for that would mean something personally to me, this is the one. Second time I’ve done it and I really don’t think I could have performed any better. Weather conditions were perfect 👌 and I came into the race injury free (after dealing with a pretty painful and frustrating calf strain a few months ago and shin splints on and off) I felt fit, fast and STRONG. @mattyferg21 and I discussed a goal of finishing the race at around 1 hour 35 minutes and 1 hour 40 minutes. Well, we ended up smoking that and finished at 01:34:39! 10th in my division as well which feels pretty awesome. A worthy mention, @mattyferg21 !!! get you a coach that puts their hand up to run with you, helps set your pace, acts as a wind block for you 😅 and also documents the run. What a legend! I could not have achieved this run without you! Thank you a million. What a proper training program, proper taper and encouragement does!! I trusted your knowledge and the outcome was better than I expected! On a side note, don’t wear grey shorts to a half marathon again. 🤣🤣 I swear it’s a sweat patch 😅 #beyondbluewellnessrun2025 #halfmarathon

2XU Wellness Run - Half Marathon ✨ PB’s X 2 Unlocked! @katherine_woff Shaved 20 secs off my Half Marathon time thanks to a consistent pace throughout and a sprint at the end! I said to my coach @mattyferg21 I wouldn’t be happy with anything less than a PB and I bloody did it! JUST! I needed this win! 🥳 @runningxstrong

Topping off a big race year with a shiny new PB at the full marathon distance! ⏰ 3:26:59 — a 17-minute personal best! The theme for this year’s race season was simple: break as many milestones as possible. Back in April, I finally broke the 4-hour barrier, which kicked off a new and ambitious goal — to run sub-3:30 within six months. After a solid half marathon showing in July and a perfectly executed race in Melbourne, that next milestone was smashed! I respected the training, trusted the stats, and backed myself to push into performance territory I hadn’t experienced before. Crossing the finish line this time felt different — less relief, and more excitement about what’s to come next. I’m pumped to chase a sub-3-hour marathon in the next couple of years, but just as eager to enjoy each step in the process along the way. Huge thanks to @mattyferg21 and the @runningxstrong team for your ongoing support, detailed planning, and helping me unlock new levels of performance I didn’t know I had. Your dedication to your own craft and to the health of others is second to none. And of course, a big thank-you to my friends, family, and co-workers who keep me motivated — and patiently listen to endless talk about new running shoes, gear, and upcoming races! No race plans locked in for the new year just yet… but let’s just say Gold Coast is high on the list for some sweet revenge. 🏝️🏃‍♂️💥

Melbourne Marathon, New PB 2:49:42. 🥇 20 seconds faster than my previous best at New York. But behind that tiny number was a disproportionate amount of work. It’s not about massive leaps anymore, it’s about showing up, staying the course, chipping away, and finding that extra 1%. Progress doesn’t always scream. It whispers now. And I’m here for it. 20 seconds, earned the hard way. #MelbourneMarathon #MarathonMindset #PBafter40 #ChaseThe1Percent @gonutritionau @goat__co

HYROX PERTH - Boys trip over West for the my first race of the new season. Felt ready & excited after a decent break since Chicago. This wasn’t my best performance but far from my worst. Felt sluggish early on, really struggled to wind up. Could have been the new wig I’m not sure. Somehow I managed to wrestle this race back from the brink and finish strong. A PB on the wall balls was encouraging after my melt down at worlds. I copped a 15 second time penalty for poor rope management on the sled pull. This almost came back to haunt me bringing 2nd place within 3 seconds. Feeww! 😅 @bec_bfit told me when I left “don’t come back without a world champs ticket to Sweden” I’m glad I held up my end of the bargain. The Hyrox adventure rolls on. 🇸🇪 Loved catching up with the HYROX community! Feels like family when you get a few races under the belt. Looking forward to the next one on the home track already! 1st 🥇 40-44 AG, 🇸🇪 20th overall ⏰ 1:05.08 #perthhyrox @rgh.portraitlab
