We’re proud of Rebel youth Aleah for speaking on a panel at the Milwaukee Film Festival last month 🎥⭐️ She and other participants of the Milwaukee Visionaries Project submitted and screened an original short film via the youth category of the festival.
Aleah (pictured in the star sweatshirt) encouraged attendees to tune into youth voices and seek out youth artists- because through their creativity, young people will tell you what they care about and give you their valuable perspective on the world. Nice job Aleah!

We are truly grateful for all who showed up for Milwaukee’s youth last week at our Life & College Fair! This was a truly special event that allowed young people to feel inspired and “Motivated to Live.”

We were honored to represent the Rebels this past weekend in the Beckum Little League parade, which celebrated the opening of their 2026 season⚾️🎉
Our connection to the league is deep. Mr. James Beckum, who founded the league and mentored Milwaukee youth for over 60 years before his passing in 2024, also served as a mentor to Running Rebels’ Executive Director Victor Barnett. Vic was only 15 when he first met Mr. Beckum, and would go on to found the Rebels only four years later.
It’s a special thing to be able to witness the “Full Circle Effect,” one of our favorite phrases … the power of mentoring, the cycles of impact across generations, and the ripple effect of re-investing back into your community. Mr. Beckum’s legacy lives on!
