Having the garden cleared down enables the septic and rainwater systems to be inspected and plans for upgrades can be made.
Surprised at how dry the ground is, relatively speaking, with all the rain we had recently.

Spent the day getting this cabin base fitted up.
The groundscrews were done a little while back, the client was delighted that we could do a low / no impact base for their workshop instead of concrete and piles.
The wonderful 6x6 larch beams were HEAVY and it took a big lift from the two of us to manhandle them into place (I've lifted lighter steel beams! 😳 )
Lovely 6x2 larch beams were used as intermediate joists to brace everything together and then through bolts to secure the entire frame in situ.
Next steps will be chicken wire to mitigate pest and rodent risk, a breather membrane and another set of joists to set up for the floor which will be insulated to its full depth.
Looking forward to seeing this project move steadily towards completion.
