63hrs 30mins. It was a race of strategy and perseverance.
It will take some processing 🧩🤯 . I am emotionally and physically done in! And look about 85years old! 🙈
😍 THANK YOU so much for all your support and messages. I had friends that popped up on the course which was morale boosting when I was digging deep, very deep, into my ultra tunnel of endurance suffering. Thank you to @capparazzi who looked after me in the medical tent after I passed out at the end and drove me home the next day.
Now time to try and absorb what’s just happened, sleep and good food!

Tried to make this week a recovery week but still 13hrs of training done. An easier week it turns out just means less on the bike as that reduces volume considerably! Although I then spent that time adjusting the bike for comfort! It really is all about the bike!

This time last weekend I raced my gravel bike in a well organised @sportivaevents . 1hr 45mins of puff and fun! 🤩
Today I went out on my bike but mainly complained about my new bike position and my distinct last of power. I also tried a run off the bike 😳. Practise required!

Thanks @bottrillmatthew for your time and advice in trying to mould this novice into some sort of aerodynamic position!
Now to get used to it so I can be comfortable and actually generate some power.
I’ll be honest this journey is already challenging me so much more than I anticipated. The commitment to the training and behind the scenes is enormous (on top of having just moved house). My head is spinning 😵💫
We moved house, I went to Tokyo to race the marathon. I came back. Unpacked 📦. I went to Liverpool to work at the @britishgymnasticsofficial champs. I went to Loughborough to work for @bucssport in all weathers!
Now I’m home and need to settle down to some @ironmantri training (and more unpacking!)

Tokyo marathon 🇯🇵
Still proud. Have not said ‘I could have gone faster if….’ A first for me!
Recovery has been slow. Travel. Bad sleep. Jet lag. Poor gut health. Back to moving in house chaos. Back to work.
What I want is a little more time without any pressure. What I’ve got is the pressure of goal! 😂
I entered something months ago as I was struggling to motivate myself with an ultra. I want to be competitive but not compare myself to my old performances. I feel I need to incorporate more cross training for longevity. I want a challenge.
So I entered @ironmanswitzerland
I have 4 months! 😝
