Out Now 📣 The latest episode of “Run With Jo” (The @jopavey Podcast) is with British ultra marathon runner and women’s running advocate Sophie Power. @ultra_sophie I’m so excited today to be joined by Sophie Power she is an absolute inspiration and has done so much to advocate for women’s running. And I can’t think of anyone better suited to having the surname Power! She has completed over 50 ultras all over the world including Spartathlon, UTMB and 250km stage races in Nepal, Bhutan and the Sahara. The picture of Sophie breast feeding her then 3 month old son during the UTMB 106 mile ultra race went viral. The powerful image represented resilience, endurance and the challenges of motherhood, and barriers that women face in sport. She has represented GB including at the 24 hour World Championships in 2023 when she was the first GB female runner and 19th female, running 227km. And she was part of the gold medal winning team in 2025. Her PB for 24 hours is an incredible 235km set in Crawley in 2023. Sophie is the Guinness World Record holder for running on a treadmill for 48 hours and is also the fastest woman to run the length of Ireland. She is also the founder of SheRACES @she.races which has events and has the goal to educate races to be more inclusive to female athletes. It has driven positive change for women in events all over the world. Sophie has recently published her brilliant book called The Power Within Record- breaking, ultra running and fighting for change. It is such a fantastic read and it’s so inspirational. For anyone doubting whether they can achieve their goals they need to read Sophie’s book, it’s amazing. An amazing podcast and one not to be missed. Available wherever you listen to your podcasts. Spotify and Apple links in comments. Out Now 📣 Hi everyone and welcome to the latest episode of “Run With Jo” (The @jopaveypodcast Podcast). In this episode Jo is joined by the amazing and inspirational Kerrie Aldridge or Kez as we know her. She is such an awesome person. Kez who calls herself @kez_littlelegs_marathon_runner on instagram and has Kez’s great big marathon journey on facebook has done so much to champion inclusivity in running and to raise money for important charities. In 2019 she ran her first marathon in London and she didn’t just run the London marathon she helped change things for the many runners who may be at the back of the pack. The situation that happened during the final miles shocked the running community as water stations disappeared and parts of the course were being cleared away. Kez made a video intending to be able to tell her family she was still going, it was very emotional and the video ended up going viral. She was so determined to finish especially as she was raising money for the miscarriage association, and she wanted also to be a role model for her son Osian. Kez spoke out about her experiences. London marathon TCS London Marathon did apologise and took action. They carried out an investigation and they offered free places to affected runners and also changed how the back of the race was managed. A great gesture 👌 Kez has gone on to compete in so many more races including a few more marathons which have included a return to London and also running in the New York and Chicago marathons. She has also done many half marathons, 5Ks and 10ks. Kez is a very important and loved member of the running community Running at 40 Plus and continues to inspire all of us in the Community. And her story is so powerful and impactful, it’s one of determination and resilience in both life and running. This is a very emotional chat between two very inspirational women. Not to be missed. You see some great characters when you stay behind to watch the final finishers of the London Marathon. This is Joanne Corcoran finishing on the Mall just before the 8 hour cut off time. She is also fighting Parkinson’s Disease. She’s been out on the course all that time and now has a glass of something bubbly in her hand. And why not? She’s earned it. Well done 🥂🏃‍♀️ #runningat40plus #TeamR40Plus #beinspiredandinspire #londonmarathon2026

The official final finisher of the 2026 London Marathon. And what a back drop, arguably the best finish to any marathon. It’s important to stay behind and cheer these guys home. They have been on the course for 8 hours. Irrespective of what Nike say about walkers being tolerated, these guys deserve kudos. Run, walk or crawl they have completed 26.2 miles and that takes guts, dedication and perseverance. Congratulations to everyone who ran today. You are all awesome 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏 #londonmarathon #TeamR40Plus #runningat40plus #beinspiredandinspire

Jog On Initiative 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ The Jog On initiative is a police campaign, notably run by Surrey Police and West Yorkshire Police. It uses undercover female officers disguised as runners to catch perpetrators of harassment, catcalling and stalking against women runners. It combines undercover operations with education, enforcement and community engagement to tackle public space safety. Has any of our female followers encountered any form of harassment whilst out running? Do you think this is a good idea? @top fans #jogon #womenrunning #womenrunningcommunity #TeamR40Plus #runningat40plus beinspiredandinspire
