Popping back in to pretend to share some work updates but really just needing an excuse to post the updated share of curl on my upper lip.
Coming off the high of a 24-hour whirlwind, premiering both the prolific @oohlalola directed short Pruning at @psfilmfest (produced by @nick.paskhover & me), and a large scale dance musical in Nashville (more on that soon).
We just wrapped our big Montrealian @fantasiafestival screening and brought dozens of new friends back with us, so you’ll have to come join at @hollyshorts August 13th for your chance at catching @pruningfilm on its mind-melting festival run.

Paramount’s new horror flick, Margaux, that I co-wrote and Executive Produced alongside @_nickwaters_ premieres September 9th!
It’s action packed from tip to toe with notes of dystopian technology and just a little bit of heart so I can’t wait for everyone to check it out.
@madelame and I would FT in everyday last summer to see all the action unfold as we concurrently worked on her’s & @creatorplus ’ mind blowing new movie Jane (releasing the week before).

CMT AWARD NOMINATED
What an adventure it’s been hanging with these two music legends on the CMT video charts the past 6 months. One, who I grew up tuning in on the radio, and the other, who’s become a close friend and collaborator and is breaking major ground in Nashville.
Go check out the video that I directed alongside @jimmieallen which made me the youngest director to be nominated for a CMT Award and made @dakotadiel the most stressed DP in town with all the different cameras we made him shoot on.

Came out of 2021 with nothing to show for it except a couple hairs on my upper lip (+ a few movies sold, 12 new passport stamps, and a few small MVs 😬)…
Thankful for all the old friends who helped get me into trouble, and all the new friends who helped me get out of it.
As @itsconnersully and I answered the call to adventure dialed by the mystery of the North African dunes, I not only inked my passport with its 50th stamp but was also thrust immediately back into our typical adrenaline-fueled international capers that I so missed during the near two years of pandemic confinement.
We slept in cars, broke bread with new friends, and got taken in by a kind-hearted farce of a police squad on suspicion of international espionage against the Tunisian government (wish I was making that up) — all in pursuit of uncovering universal truths across cultures and figuring out how to intertwine them into the stories we tell back home.
And if those two run on sentences weren’t enough for you, I can’t wait to share more as we continue to roam the overlooked ancient treasures of the forgotten world.
