Tulip (For Kate) Cotton and towel 26x20cm 2022 🌷 As Tulip bulbs sprout in front gardens and it nears closer to spring, I’m reminded that it is nearly two years since our brilliant Kate Daw passed away. It’s still hard to adequately describe Kate’s impact - on my life, the art community and so many other people’s lives. But I do know that whenever I am making art, her words are never hard to find, and what a gift that is. I made a number of acrylic paintings last year in lockdown as a small personal project - first for the sake of trying to make my space feel better but then once I had too many I made them for friends and family’s spaces. This weekend a couple of them will be leaving the bedroom walls to live on a pathway in Thornbury. Come by with a coffee and enjoy! 📸courtesy @kenneth_suico
