BAND SPOTLIGHT
Rugged is a 5-piece metallic hardcore band from Sofia, Bulgaria and feature members of TRUExFEELING, Crook Mentality, Dan Koloff & Pokoi among others. Formed in late 2019, the band’s mix of hardcore and metal is mostly inspired by bands like Irate and Enemy Mind, which are known to inject metal tropes and sounds into hardcore dancefloors worldwide. Rugged has multiple self-released records since their inception - their debut EP “Driven by Instinct” in 2021, the “Godless Days” EP in 2022, a 3-way split with Varna’s hardcore legends Outrage and grindcore maniacs Facepalm Death (R.I.P.) in 2023 and a 2-song single (including a 100 Demons cover) in 2024. With a mini-tour Balkan tour with Boston’s Death Before Dishonor, multiple other shows in the Balkan area and also the U.K., the band is planing a European tour and is working on their debut LP which is set to release is early 2026.
Members of the band are also part of Tough Luck Booking (@toughlucksquad ), a collective organizing shows in Sofia, Bulgaria.
