2016 Rewind:
Probably the year I realised I would call Chennai “My home”. Thought about quitting my IT job for the first time seriously. Was doing two jobs because; Yes, I loved my job but I also loved the entrepreneurial bug that had bitten me. May be first time I felt that the search of something else that I want to do, finally (probably) starts here.
Wrote lyrics for the first time and learnt how poetry can be so different from songwriting. Taught by the supremely talented
@singer_bhargavi_sridhar
Met a very talented entrepreneur who had guts of steel to do what he was doing, in spite of what people expected of him and what the “norm” was. Met my husband
@ganeshramachandran_ and his baby Madras Fiestas which is now
@thedestinytales .
Ate a South Indian meal for the first time guided by the very patient
@mcgopi . Attended my first ever Tamil wedding and also planned my first ever wedding as a wedding planner at
@thedestinytales
Was visited by
@mehul.prakaash when I was missing the life I had left in Kolkata.
Going out with my girls
@sne8783 &
@dew.meee and spending time with them used to be the only calm in the chaos.
Of course had a great birthday with my crew.
That was also the year my little one
@suvanshi_soha had turned 18.
Witnessed a very close friend (or I should say my first friend at work) get married.
Wore a silk saree for the first time. Got one of the highest packages of that time. Had bought my first Ray Ban, little something for Mom and Dad and my first watch.
Had a beautiful Diwali with
@priyankajsr90 in Chhara for the first time.
Stayed up all night on New Year’s Eve learning about another close friend leaving the country.
Of course had (and still have) crazy ambitions and dreams about life and love. Was still tilting in photos, like always.
Little did I know 2016 wasn’t just a year, it was the beginning of my becoming. Photo quality used to be bad but the hearts used to be fuller. Anyways, living in nostalgia and being ancient is part of what I generally do in life. Nothing much has changed though..it probably never does! Or does it?
