There is an overload of information constantly being conveyed to us via signage. I tend to turn a blind eye to a laaaaarge chunk of them, selectively tuning into the ones that catch my fancy.

Wandering Soot
I’ve watched this specific tree for 3 years now.
I watch the spiky seed balls grow, fall and roll. They are animated even in stillness.
It feels like they are always upto some mischief, much like Miyazaki’ soot sprites. Did you know they are called susuwatari in Japanese which literally translates to “Wandering Soot”. Wonder if he was inspired by a Sweetgum tree too.
