⛩️ Whispers of the Inari ⛩️
Amid the endless vermilion gates of Fushimi Inari, a spectral guardian of unseen realms. Cloaked in mystery, it moves like a breath of wind, a whisper of the divine, guiding the sacred path where earth and spirit meet. This latest artwork delves into the spiritual symbolism that defines this sacred site:
🦊 Dual Fox Spirits: The fox spirits, messengers of Inari, weave between the torii gates, representing protection and prosperity. In this piece, two ethereal foxes walk in quiet harmony, their presence a reminder of the unseen forces watching over us.
⛩️ Nature’s Sanctuary: Surrounded by forests, Fushimi Inari is a place where nature and spirituality are intertwined. The fox spirits wandering the shrine reflect this sacred balance, embodying the harmony between the natural world and divine protection.
🎨 Symbolism and Spirit: This design is more than just an illustration; it’s an invitation to walk alongside these spiritual messengers and experience the ancient magic of Inari. Each element captures the serene beauty and mystical energy of one of Japan’s most iconic shrines. I’m also thrilled that this artwork has been released as a limited edition Displate.
✨ I was happy to revisit this shrine last month after five years away. The experience inspired me deeply, and I plan to create more illustrations around this enchanting place, perhaps a mysterious series awaits.

🌕 Under the full moon, I was lucky to experience the quiet magic of Fushimi Inari ⛩️
Walking through the endless torii gates in the stillness of night. Soon, I’ll reveal the Inari spirit behind my latest limited edition design. Here’s a closer look at this sacred site:
🖤 Temple History: Founded in 711 AD, Fushimi Inari is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice, prosperity, and success. Pilgrims have walked this path for centuries, following the trail to Mount Inari’s summit.
❤️ Kitsune Statues: Throughout the shrine, fox statues (kitsune) stand as messengers of Inari, symbolizing protection and abundance. Many hold keys in their mouths, representing their guardianship over rice granaries and wealth.
🤍 Torii Gates: Over 10,000 vibrant red torii gates create a striking pathway, each donated by individuals or businesses seeking blessings for prosperity. Walking through these gates at night, under the full moon, brings a rare sense of peace and reflection.
🖤 24-Hour Access: Unlike the bustling daytime, the temple is open all night, offering a serene, meditative experience after dark.
✨ Stay tuned as I reveal the original design here ~

Happy World Art Day 👨🎨
This World Art Day, we’ve launched a new feature: Verified Creators ✔️
So let’s talk about the core of this feature, the Creators who make it special 🙂↕️👇
Each of these Creators has a unique, original, and authentic style of art they bring to their Displates. They’re Creators who’ve been with us for years and continue to push the boundaries of our artworks in both standard and Limited Edition features.
So we had some chats with them, dove into some deep a few questions, and are happy to give a bit of insight to their art journeys…oh, and they all have a cool Pink Verified Creator Badge now which signifies that our team recognizes them for their unique styles and originality in their artworks. 🩷
So, take a look at the amazing @rubyart1@tiberius_ciucinciu@gtgraphics.de@ilustrata@stefankoidl and @elora.owakita …and if you’re looking to find their artworks, check them out @displate .com

🖤 Welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse. 🐎
🤍 This one was particularly challenging on the pose. I tried many sketches before moving foward ✍️

⛩️ I ran into this place by luck while leaving Izumo Taisha.
🌊 At Inasa Beach, where the kami are said to arrive by sea before gathering at the shrine, a small rock shrine is dedicated to Toyotamahime, a sea goddess linked to water and protection.
🌅 A quiet spot to watch a beautiful sunset.
🖤 Traveling through the Japanese countryside by road trip makes moments like this especially unique.

❤️✨ Year of the Horse
In Japan, horses appear in shrines as sacred intermediaries, believed to carry prayers between the human world and the divine.
At Izumo Taisha, the bronze horse statue stands near the worship hall as a divine mount, a quiet guardian associated with protection, safe journeys, and blessings.
A reminder that movement can be gentle.
That direction does not always need urgency.
I was born under the Horse zodiac, so this year feels personal.
A year to move with intention, resilience, and quiet determination.
I’ve decided to create a horse illustration for the Year of the Horse 🐎
Stay tuned ✨
