ZINE WORKSHOP!!!!! Stop by the cult on Sunday the 17th for a relaxing workshop run by two of our favorite artists.
This collaboration between Sheep Cult Comics and @baqyardbabes brings a fun zine workshop. The leaders of this event are @chanagoldbloom and @ruby.comix . It will begin with a tutorial of two different zine styles, and will the go on to an open space for creating images and/or text that would fill the zine forms created in the first half. Relaxed and unpressurized creation is the goal for this workshop. This event is free and open to the public! RSVP in Bio

ZINE FEST
š
last week was #BookCon , and if you saw any of the posts on threads + IG, it looked like an absolutely intense weekend full of chaotic arc drops, sweet author signings, and busy lines! but i wasnāt in New Yorkā instead, i spent my weekend at the Lansing Independent Comics + Zines Fest (aka LICZ)! it was my first time attending a zine fest despite having been a fan of zines (and even making a few of my own) for years, but when one of my colleagues mentioned it to me last friday, i knew i had to go! it was a fantastic event with nearly 50 vendors, great activities like crafting and an open mic, and so many talented artists. iād love to attend BookCon someday, but i truly had a blast at LICZā and not to reference my accidentally-viral threads post, but it was SO nice to see how many folks were wearing masks at the event! masking is community careāØ
i picked up a bunch of awesome goodies at LICZ, but i want to show off some of my favorites from the talented artists tagged on this post:
-Ouroboros, a 2026 Eclectic Fiction Zineā all proceeds go to the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, and it features stories by some of my booklet friends turned real life legends (Olive + CJ + Kal!)
-a LESBIAN PIGEONS sticker and a mini modern philately, aka stamp collecting, zine by From Eveās Studio
-an iconic trio of stickers: anti AI, Trans Your Gender, and Fresno Nightcrawlers by Computer Bug Studios
-a stunning print of a Sudanese activist chantā i sadly didnāt catch the name of this creator!
-a horror zine + vampire pin from Arcane Moody, who was wearing an iconic Ghoulish Book Festival shirt!
-aaaaaand so much more!
š
qotd: have you ever made a zine? what niche topic would you want to tell people about? or, do you enjoy local craft markets?
Next Friday, April 24th, come to Sheep Cult Comics for the release party of DEADWEIGHT, a new comics anthology centered around body image and relationships with food. The party will feature readings from some of the contributing artists, as well as a chance to be one of the first people to see the book in print!
Several members of the sheep cult family are featured in these pages, including @suchapile , who will be reading!
The readings will begin at 7. Donāt miss it!
Take a look on the next page for a sneak peek at the table of contents. I couldnāt find everyoneās social medias, so please let me know if Iāve missed yours so I can add it!

*APRIL FOOLS - NUGGET IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!*
Hi guys, Tony's assistant Brayxton here. I regret to inform you all that Tony is retiring from cartooning today, but not to worry, as Nugget will continue as a comic drawn by other artists. We at Nug Co. decided it would be better to pass the torch on to other creators then to just let the Nugget flame peter out forever.
STATEMENT FROM TONY DIPASQUALE:
"I've been drawing this stupid shit for over five years now... I'm done. Im tired. I need a break. I hate comics, and I hate Nugget. I'm outsourcing all the work out to other cartoonists now before all this drawing f***ing kills me. It's been a great ride but my tenure as the sole artist and writer of Nugget ends today. I'm handing off this extremely valuable IP off to other creators." - Tony DiPasquale, 4/1/2026.
I (Brayxton) am sad to see him go. He was a very hard man to work for. Constantly drunk, tempermental, insecure, belittling, and all around a genuinely nasty and mean-spirited person, but his ouvre really speaks for itself, and as the new CEO of Nug Co. I hope to keep the legacy alive through these new artists.
Thankyou for all the support over the years, I and our team of artists are excited to bring you new Nugslop.
-Brayxton
