My baby is out! I’m so proud of this project. I made it last summer with my mom before leaving for college. We scrambled at the end of the summer to finish up recording everything and here we are now. One summer later and it’s out.
Each song is written about a different Wes Anderson film, thus the name Wes. This concept was also my mom’s idea after she noticed I kept writing songs about his films.
When I first started songwriting I would pull details from other stories for I had a major lack of life experience. I felt this was the perfect first project for that reason. This is the way of writing I began with.
If you want to really go crazy with this listening experience, the films (in tracklist order) I wrote about are: Moonrise Kingdom, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, and Asteroid City. Treat yourself to a movie marathon if you wish.
