Every day I wake up, I think about you ma. I don’t want to believe it’s been a year without you here. We spoke just a couple of hours before, and the thought never crossed my mind that it would be my last time hearing your voice. Each day that passes, I still wonder why. The hard part is coming to the realization that this has become reality. Some days I’m good, and then some days not so good, but I wake up every day keeping your name alive. When people meet me, they meet you. You are the reason why I’m becoming the man I am, and even though you are not physically here to witness it, I know you have your hands guiding me, watching every path I take. I can’t thank you enough for the mother you are to me and Kai. Showing us unconditional love, your joy was your two boys. There’s never a moment you aren’t thought about. I miss you ma.
