Excited to announce LAST NIGHT won the audience award for best short in our block at @wickedqueer film festival in April! This means so much to me, that my work is connecting with the audience. You spend so much time hiding these films from everyone until festival time, and even then you’re not sure if it will connect with festival programmers just to get accepted and in front of an audience. I’m officially in remission! After 6 months, and 12 rounds of chemo it’s time for this part of my cancer journey to come to an end. This process is so long, with a lot of “wait and see” and unknowns, it can be really overwhelming. I feel so fortunate that the treatments worked exactly as we hoped they would, and the final scans came back clean. I really look forward to getting back out into the world and seeing everyone’s faces again! I’ll have this disease forever, and it may rear its ugly head further down the road, but for now it’s time to get back to it. I couldn’t have gotten through this without my incredible husband @joethebearcat ,he took care of me every step of the way. I can’t thank him enough for keeping me going every single day, even when I felt like I couldn’t even get out of bed. Love this man so much. ♥️ I also want to thank everyone for reaching out with their love and support, and for those who shared their own stories with me of their own health struggles. It really helped me pull through some tough days, we are all in this together! Love you all, and I hope to see everyone soon. ♥️♥️
