absolutely over the moon over Inhabiting a Body is the Horror—our very first gallery at the River Park Arts Center. we have a real live gallery in the heart of our neighborhood. and we couldn’t have been happier to feature anyone than Jay McCoy. we often talk about how cool it’s been to watch the kids who grew up in the south bend we’ve helped build at MAKE and The Well and Rebel Art Fest, and Jay is the top of that class. we’re so lucky to be surrounded by such a vibrant, inventive, and loving community. this is just the start. watch for what’s next.

Wow, I am just stunned and amazed by my beautiful community in South Bend. Today, we inked well over 200 shirts, hats, jackets, bags, and more. And you all responded — you donated $800 for local families affected by ICE. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! A very special thank you to: - @takecaresouthbend for prompting this event in the first place, donating ink and more, distributing our flyers, and inking for six straight hours to support our community (plus the million other things she did to make this special) - @makesouthbend for giving us a space to do this, providing ink and supplies, @iamnatdanger for inking alongside us, and for all they did to make this a great day (which was a TON) - @venus.aurelia_ for stepping up for her community and volunteering to ink with us, even though we had never met before! I’m so impressed by her generosity and dedication to South Bend. - My husband for keeping things running by washing our supplies and running a million errands throughout the event (plus his constant emotional support before and during) - And especially everyone who came, got a shirt, and donated for their community. 🥰 You all inspire me. What’s a creative show and tell? Exactly what it looks like! Folks showed off rug making, painting, garbage reclamation, poetry, song, culinary fusion, animation, mixed media zinemaking… We’ll definitely be doing this again, so keep an eye out!
