I moved to New York in March 2021 a week before my 25th birthday because of a dream. In the midst of the pandemic I dreamt that I was giving birth at a hospital in Brooklyn. I woke up the next morning and knew I needed to move to New York. 4 months later I packed 3 suitcases and moved across the country. I had never left the Bay Area or my family, but I knew something was calling me to New York. I just didn’t know what it was yet. That same year I started working on banuskin.com, a blog where I talked about all things acne and acne-safe skincare. And from that, my brand was born. Tomorrow I move to LA with the love of my life to start a new chapter. But before I go, a thank you to New York. Creating your own path in life is fucking hard. Whether you’re a founder, content creator, consultant…building something out of thin air is no joke.
