so many thoughts.
first i have so many thank yous to share:
thank you to
@helixdancecrew for trusting me to choreograph the closer.
thank you to
@bufusion for the event and allowing us to compete in the first place.
thank you to
@katuhleen ,
@juliandeguz13 , &
@haenihaenihaeni , the judges for all of their support and critiques.
thank you to
@caleb.song10 for being so consistently there throughout this whole process
thank you to my friends, family, and loved ones for the support and love
and two special thank yous:
a special thank you to Sam Javi, who this event was dedicated towards. his influence on my movement and his impact on my love for dance is truly unforgettable and it was so clear how his presence was on the community that night. thank you Sam Javi 🕊️.
and a special thank you to God, for providing these experiences and this gift to be able to move, to uplift and worship His name.
my dance journey in college had started to be really rough when preparing for this season. being so exhausted with so many of the demanding aspects of life, i had slowly begun to lose the love that i had for dance.
to hear that helix, a team that’s only competed once before, would be entering the elements stage that i dreamed about going back since last performing in 2023, i was faced with immense pressure.
internal pressure of self-expectations, worries of disappointment, i truly pushed the team so much and i thank them all for bearing through with it.
if i was to describe this section with two words, it would be “intensity” and “raw”. while constructing the vision board, the music truly felt so powerful to me. sticking true to myself i pushed myself and the team harder than ever before.
and so here’s the result! i’m very proud of it, but me being me, i can’t help but notice things that could be cleaned and suffering with the imposter syndrome of wondering “how??”
but regardless of these thoughts, i can say that the team left all their emotions on that stage.
thank u for ur love and keep an eye out on us 🫂🌱
