Back with @hiddoboston and @corazondewura to present a free community screening of All That’s Left of You by filmmaker Cherien Dabis on May 16, in commemoration of Nakba Day, all while the Nakba continues today before our eyes. It’s our duty to witness in service of taking action for a free Palestine. Film proceeds will go towards mutual aid for Palestinians navigating occupation and genocide. We hope to see you there. Rehearsing for revolution is one of the core aims of Theatre of the Oppressed - but how do we do that when our bodies, senses, and relations have been mechanized by the oppressors? Demechanization games with Kayhan Irani as part of our introductory workshop to Theatre of the Oppressed in collaboration with @brooklineartscenter

Thank you to everyone who joined us and @shebrewwwww for a poetry workshop on Revitalizing Revolutionary Spirit. Such a timely discussion to reflect on writings of June Jordan, Lucille Clifton, Danez Smith, and others at a time of upheaval as we continue to navigate a world manufactured for despair. Reading and reflecting on radical works by revolutionary writers to guide our thinking and motivate our actions toward liberation. The work continues! As always, we are grateful for our partnership with @brooklineartscenter to bring our workshops to life.

We are excited to host an introductory workshop on participatory theatre inspired by Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed (TO). Building on Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, TO exercises theatre as a collaborative effort where everyone is an active participant in storytelling, narrative shaping, and world-building while focused on critical social and political themes. The workshop will be led by artist and educator @kayhanisaportal and is open to everyone! No prior experience needed, just curiosity and commitment to our collective liberation! Link in bio to rsvp
