The Fashion and Talent Show at Global Showcase 2026 was such a VIBE. Seeing people walk the stage in traditional and contemporary outfits from back home, hearing everyone sing along, and watching the crowd dance, wave flags, and cheer for each performanceโฆ the energy all afternoon was unreal.

RRU Alumni Weekend 2026 brought together alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and family for a weekend of engaging conversations, new perspectives and meaningful connections.
From Sheila Watt-Cloutierโs keynote on leadership and global interconnectedness to workshops exploring coaching, collaboration, and vertical development, the weekend created space for real reflection and dialogue. Alumni also reconnected through the World Cafรฉ, guided tours of Hatley Castle, traditional plant knowledge shared by Cowichan Elder Kenneth Elliott, and conversations over coffee and lunch with fellow members of the Royal Roads community.
We also celebrated this yearโs Alumni Changemaker Achievement Award recipients and the impact they continue to make in their communities and professions.

For Aoi Hashimoto, Bachelor of Business Administration alum, some of her most valuable education happened outside the classroom.
โYou don't have to just sit and listen to lectures. You get to actually do things yourself and attack a project or problem yourself," she says. "It's easier for me to apply it to my job.โ
She says her co-op during her program not only provided her with valuable training and experience, but also resulted in full-time job.

This Asian Heritage Month, he speaks about his research into Victoria's Chinatown, and its role shaping both economic activity in the region as well as identity across generations.
โI wanted to understand how the people closest to this place actually feel about what is happening,โ he says.
โItโs not just good or bad. People can feel proud and connected, but also frustrated or disappointed.โ
