It’s been so inspirational to sound design Hong Kong Ballet’s The Butterfly Lovers at the Lincoln Centre.
Carla Escolda said in her Bachtrack review, “(Composer Tian Mi’s) music with its rich sonorities burnished by wind and water and played live by the New York City Ballet Orchestra, with Lio Kuokman at the helm, is a triumph, conjuring ancient times as well as a bracing modernity.”
Thank you New York, and until next time!
By the way, you're listening to the recording I made from our premiere production in Hong Kong, performed by the one and only Angela Chan on the violin and the Macao Orchestra 🫶🏻
Tai Kwun’s InnerGlow has inspired me in so many different ways. Working with Hung Keung and Edmund Leung so closely has expended the dimensions of my senses. And the impeccable support from Tai Kwun’s performing arts, operational and technical teams, supplemented with Australia’s The Electric Canvas, formed the completed puzzle pieces for this striking project.
Don’t forget to see the young professional’s works that I helped coaching too in the Searchlight programme!

Loved working with the fabulous companies of Queensland Ballet, Queensland Camerata, and the QPAC for the ballet production of Coco Chanel. Thanks to both Annabelle Lopez Ochoa who created this masterpiece with an incredible score by Peter Salem!
