My Grampy, I want to thank the universe for placing you in my life for a little while. You left this specific week for a reason—your favorite week. A time to be thankful for so much: to be alive, our time here, and how precious it is. We have a one-way ticket when it comes to our journeys here on Earth.
My Grandpa came from nothing, yet through his drive and determination, with four boys, he later met my Grandma, who had five children of her own. Together, they had a beautiful blended family of eleven and lived an incredible, hard, challenging, long life.
I spent 27 years of my life loving and being loved by him, and that is the greatest gift I could ever have. I want to thank you for your humor, the countless moments of laughter, being my second dad, teaching me how to drive, our summer road trips, building campfires, listening to classics like Patsy Cline, singing to Grandma, your generosity, not only to me but to everyone you met, your love for animals, and the simple things in life you cared about—I will always carry those memories close to my heart.
Wherever you are, I hope you’re enjoying a cold Diet Pepsi with a bowl of chocolate-covered gummies. I will miss you terribly, but I know one day I’ll see you around the campfire. RIP 11.25.24 🌈🏎️🏁
