Introducing... Wants and Needs by @roxy.dunn We absolutely loved Roxy's debut novel As Young As This and her latest novel is just as funny, observant and emotionally astute. When Misty's financé and partner of a decade breaks off their engagement, she half-heartedly downloads the apps on her friends' advice. But she's immediately drawn in by charismatic, handsome Christopher, so intrigued that she doesn't spot the acronym 'ENM' on his profile. When she learns that 'ENM' stands for 'Ethical Non-Monogamy' and that Christopher is in a committed relationship she decides that dating Christopher for six weeks while his partner is away might just be the perfect way to learn a new way to approach dating and have some fun with someone she fancies while she's at it. The stage is set for Misty to learn what she really wants, and what she really needs. Roxy's writing is a total joy, and she explores love in a very honest way, with humour and kindness. Wants and Needs is coming on 29th January 2026 and is the perfect new year read - so pre-order now! Head to the link in our bio now.

As Young As This by @roxy.dunn I absolutely adored this book. It is easily one of my 2026 highlights so far. Margot reflects on the relationships she has had since her teenage years, each one shaping her understanding of love and herself. Each chapter covers a different relationship, up to present day. Margot is such a brilliant character, messy, funny, vulnerable, and completely real. I was fully invested in her story from start to end. What really stood out to me was how much I even loved the men. Each one felt distinct and meaningful, adding depth to her journey and shaping who she becomes. This book feels so close to real life, especially in its portrayal of womanhood, relationships, and the pressure of timelines. A truly special and relatable read - perfect holiday book. ✨☀️ @penguinukbooks

Meant to post this earlier in the week and never got around to it but feels fitting for *Mother’s Day anyway. Thanks to @shahedezaydi for inviting me to be one of these 18 writers for @stylistmagazine - my favourite ‘assignment’ to date! (Also, *happy birthday Jim!)

Announcing our Headline Panel - Roxy Dunn & Gonzalo Garcia Two hugely exciting literary voices take centre stage in this year’s headliner conversation. @roxy.dunn burst onto the fiction scene with her debut novel As Young as This, which was widely celebrated as one of The Independent, Harper’s Bazaar, Stylist, Cosmopolitan and Sunday Times Style’s Best Books of 2024 — a wry, emotionally fluent exploration of love, expectation and the stories we tell ourselves about life and relationships. Her second novel, Wants and Needs, continues her beguiling mix of humour and insight, arriving in early 2026. Joining her is Chilean-born novelist Gonzalo C. Garcia @gonzo_garcia , whose debut novel We Are The End introduced readers to his distinctive blend of wit and depth and earned critical attention in the UK independent publishing scene. His much anticipated new novel Telenovela, set in Santiago toward the end of Pinochet’s dictatorship, arrives in late 2025 and expands his richly human storytelling into bold historical and political territory. In this headliner session, the conversation will be facilitated by Wet Paint and Second Self author Chloë Ashby. Dunn and Garcia will reflect on how their identities, backgrounds and artistic journeys have shaped their work; how they navigate expectation and evolution from one book to the next; and offer insight and encouragement for emerging writers and indie publishers charting their own creative paths. #alternativebookfair

Today is Canadian pub day for Wants and Needs! I shortsightedly left the house without the book this morning so am having to post this dry photo instead of me holding the physical copy in which you’d see my big ole cheeks beaming at being published across the pond 🇨🇦 🍁 Huge thanks to dream editor @sarahemja @randomhouseca and my agent @sla_agency for making this happen!

Today is publication day for Wants and Needs! This book is my favourite thing I’ve ever written and I fear I may never write anything as good as it again. But will deal with the fear at a later date - today is about celebrating and thanking everyone who’s got me to this point. Thank you!
