Malaysia - this was one of the countries we planned to go where I didn't really know what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. We set up home base in Kuala Lumpur which is a huge city, the architecture of downtown is amazing. The streets in the evenings are packed with merchants selling all type of cheap food, clothes, electronics etc. We really enjoyed walking around the city, talking to all the locals (pretty much everyone spoke English) and taking it all in. The weather there is so humid, rainstorms both start fast and finish fast. We learnt the definition of flash storm lol. After a couple days there we made our way to a mountain town called Genting Highlands, this is where the only casino in Malaysia (mainly muslim country) is located inside a huge amusement park hotel called skytropolis, literally on top of a mountain. We spent a day there and went to a wicked virtual reality place and had some good eats and drinks. Then we flew to an island called Langkawi and WOW, this place was paradise. Every night at the beach there was shows and we'd settle in with some food, drinks and hookah. I enjoyed the shit out of that! We also got lucky with an awesome air b&b house right next to beach. It was perfect. We spent a couple days there, flew back to Kuala Lumpur for a day and then headed out to Bali, Indonesia. We have been in Indonesia since November 29th but this morning is the first day I actually had time to sit down and digest Malaysia.
