Campus and community radio is a beacon of light in an era where arts media and music journalism are becoming increasingly corporatized. CFUV offers free training on industry standard equipment, amplifies underrepresented voices, and champions offbeat community-led programming. Where else could you hear everything from Joni to Tisakorean to podcasts on decolonization and accessibility in the span of a couple hours?????
Whether you are able to donate this year or not, consider volunteering at your local campus or community radio station. Get a radio show. Uplift marginalized voices in your community. It’s literally so important and you will meet so many amazing people along the way. Ok that is my love letter to campus/community radio. mwah😘
