๐ Andrew was a season ticket holder for over 30 years. He fell ill with terminal cancer in November 2025 and sadly passed away in February 2026.
#Rovers would like to honour Andrew by adding his name on the seat he had for over 30 years in the Riverside as part of our 1875 club.

๐ #Rovers have been awarded a Family Excellence Gold Award for the seventh season running, recognising the clubโs continued commitment to delivering a welcoming, enjoyable and memorable matchday experience for families at Ewood Park.
We are one of 22 @efl clubs to achieve Gold status, which recognises the outstanding quality and experience provided to families on matchdays.
The EFLโs Family Excellence scheme, which was launched in 2007-08, assesses the matchday experience clubs provide for families and awards them with Gold, Silver or Bronze status based on the quality of that matchday experience.
Throughout the season, clubs receive two visits from family assessors, who evaluate every stage of the matchday journey, from purchasing tickets to how they feel when they leave the stadium. The family assessors consider a range of factors including matchday activations, stadium accessibility and facilities, and how effectively clubs engage and communicate with families.
Rovers received an overall score of 9/10 following the two โmystery shopperโ visits during the 2025-26 Championship campaign โ ranking the club 6th in the division and 15th overall out of the 72 EFL clubs.
The Overall Summary report read:
It has been another successful season of Gold standard Family Excellence assessments at Blackburn Rovers and it was the people at Ewood Park that really stood out, especially in the second visit of 2025-26.
Two consistently great assessments, with no significant gaps, the warm and friendly interactions via email ahead of the game really helps new visitors feel welcomed, and post-match communication (including a feedback survey) shows the club listen to and value new supporters.
On matchday, friendly and helpful staff ensured the experience was a memorable one, with a stadium tour, pitchside photos and goodie bags adding moments of magic to a childโs first game.
As summed up by one of the assessors: โeveryone we spoke to was so friendly to both me and my children. They made it a special experienceโ.
