Mr. Lancaster entrusted us with his 2023 Camaro ZL1, wanting to take the already formidable LT4 platform and turn it into something truly extraordinary. In completely stock form, the ZL1 produced a baseline of 542 whp / 531 wtq on our Dynojet. Respectable numbers for a factory supercharged V8, but far from what this platform is capable of when properly refined.
After carefully reviewing his goals, we put together a comprehensive performance package designed to maximize horsepower while maintaining drivability and long-term reliability, and the results are nothing short of remarkable. On 93 octane, the ZL1 produced 889 whp / 772 wtq. Switching to Ignite E85, output climbed to an astounding 997 whp / 851 wtq. That represents a gain of 455 horsepower and over 320 ft-lbs of torque compared to stock. Torque increases of this scale are particularly noteworthy, the LT4 now delivers an immediate surge of power across the rpm range, transforming the car’s responsiveness both on the street and at the track.
