22/3-26/3- Ross Daly (& Yasamin Shahhosseini) - Understanding Modality / A comparative study of Iranian and Ottoman Repertory - last days of registration! ☀️
Before the term “World Music” gained popularity, pioneers recognized the immense value and diversity of global musical traditions. Ross Daly is one such individual, dedicating his life to their study. A nomad of Irish descent, Ross Daly found his home in Crete for over 35 years. Immersed in modal traditions from the Middle East, Central Asia, and India, music became his sacred dialogue. Since 1975, based in Crete, he has been a leading expert in its musical heritage. As the founder of Labyrinth Musical Workshop in 1982, Daly fosters collaborations across traditions, releasing over 35 albums blending composition and traditional melodies.
