drawing with light
i made these luminograms back in july of last year.
they were made in a darkroom using a homemade fibre optic device (made out of a LED light engine taped to an acrylic rod) and light sensitive paper.
old industrial graphite in a cardboard box
i spent ages on the thames foreshore scavenging for something
there’s lots of stuff to be found there - miscellaneous fragments of discarded matter
over the course of several months, i ended up collecting lots of fragments of old graphite from industrial crucibles
this graphite is charged - it’s a product of industry - a physical (semi-geological) marker of the anthropocene
