Wow, what can I say. Playing 10 hours for the first time felt truly amazing. āØ
In a ānormalā 2-hour set, I always have to choose between things:
- playing my own released tracks people expect
- playing unreleased ones I need to test
- playing music by friends
- playing tracks that serve the story
- playing something that creates a big moment
- or the best dj choice: following my intuition.
And often, these choices contradict each other.
A banger can break the story. A deep moment can lose the crowd.
But with 10 hours⦠I didnāt have to choose.
I could take my time. Let things breathe.
Build a real story, while still doing all of it.
I went through so many phases that night: deep, uplifting, dirty, back to deep, into a grand finale, and ending in melancholy.
I wasnāt tired at all.
I was filled with adrenaline and happiness.
There were multiple moments where I just felt pure gratitude for all of you being there. Thatās something I donāt take for granted, and never will.
Thank you for dancing.
And thank you to everyone at Het Sieraad, the team, the bar staff, security, for making this night possible together.
I have 52 highlights haha, but here are 10 of my favorites
1. New ID named āthose who dancedā
2. Tell me whyyyyy

Tomorrow marks one of the most beautiful day of my life. About 20 years ago. My life changed for good, my mom, my everything, passed away. it broke my heart, it changed my soul. It ignited something in me, something that told me: you have to make her proud, even though sheās not there, you will make sure her life was valuable. This emotion was the core of my being, the core of my persuasion and strength. Without a doubt i finished school, started my first business - sold it which paid for my university degree, started another businesses and sold that so I could eventually make that tribute, in music. Music is what moved her soul and soothed mine, she was a dancer and in every move I made I danced with her.
I wanted to make an album for her and for years I made music, cried in the studio, felt the pain, felt the loss, but I never understood why, why would a 39 year old woman that was so lovely pass away?
It was this question that was the real one to be answered. And it was that question that my intuition always wanted me to know. Because underneath that question was my path to freedom, freedom from that little boy that had to fight, because he did not understand.
Writing the album has given me all the answers I needed, why people run from pain, even in the face of truth. But I donāt choose that path, iām breaking that silence.
Iām breaking that silence with my album: āMylĆØneā.
This wasnāt easy, but it has made me a better man. In this proces of writing, therapy helped me to face the fact that I couldnāt save my mom anymore, that I donāt have make a tribute. I need to let go of that boy inside me who was still holding on to her. And that letting go is what Iām doing now.
So much in my life is changing, and thatās hard, but itās what was needed. Because that little boy deep in my heart, can finally breathe.
Dear Mom,
My album started as a tribute to you
But has become the biggest gift to myself
And deep inside, I know
Thatās all youāve ever wanted
So now all we do is dance
And celebrate
Our Love
Forever
X

Ate a lot of dim sum, played new music, had a singalong, saw funky dogs, met a weird ass cat, hiked, recorded, explored, drank lots of tea hiked some more, and came back with a heart full of new experiences of Hong Kong and Chinese culture, which Iām really grateful for. āØš„

The last top 10 iām posting before my 10h marathon this Saturday: my top 10 bangers. Title speaks for itself right? I love to play these cause they always get the dancefloor going. With every top 10 iām getting post anxiety attacks when I remember another one I forgot, I could make a top 100 but here are 10 of my favās:
10. Joris Voorn - Genova. This groove! Like a train constantly speeding.
9. Remixing a classic like this is such a challenge, but Maceo Plex made something that to me even tops the original: Faithless - Insomnia. What a banger.
8. Trusāme - I Want You (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix) Monster groove and such a personal favorite. I remember someone playing this in Trouw and I was losing my shit!! Constantly mumbling: ādeep inside of you pam popā haha.
7. Cirez D - On Off. Does this even need explanation? I donāt think there is any DJ that doesnāt like playing this. Itās such an epic work by Eric Prydz. Making such a banger with so few elements, genius.
6. This wouldnāt be a complete banger list without: Fiji by Atlantis vs Avatar. Big break, hands in the air, trance euphoria. Give me those chords all day.
5. 20hz (Optimo Edit) by Capricorn. Man, the drums in this track, the energy it unleashes, that awesome bassline. I love playing this as you know.
4. Kƶlsch - Loreley is such an art piece. When I first heard it in 2014 at Buiten Westen Festival it made me fall in love with Kƶlschās sound, and the whole 1977 album is probably my favorite album ever.
3. A very recent add by my friend Ugo Banchi. Dance With Ibiza is the perfect example of a dancefloor banger. I challenge you: play this anywhere and people start to scream at the drop.
2. This might surprise some of you, but this record by my friend (my friend ;) ) named Clockwork Pigeon has been an absolute favorite banger for me for years. When I hear it, I want to go to a nightclub and hear only tracks like this for 8 hours straight.
1. Then as my absolute favorite, another surprise, because itās actually kind of a mashup. The groove of this to me is the ffffing mother of all grooves. I LOVE playing this. Technasia - Obsession (Hombre Lowdown French Kissed Edit)
Going through my library for my 10-hour set next Saturday, I came to the conclusion that most of my āfavoriteā tracks fall into this category: emotional weapons.
These are the songs that got me hooked on electronic music. Itās these kind of tracks that hit you right in the feels.
Itās rare to discover a new one. Maybe within these, thereās a new one for you :)
10. UUUU by WhoMadeWho and Rampa is such a beauty, the vocal is sang with so much intention.
9. Those who know my music probably understand why I love this track named āNeed You Nowā by Howling. That part of at 3:35, just wow.
8. Rƶyskopp - sordid affair (maceo plex remix) I remember playing this a few years back at la reve at het sieraad and everyone around me was jumping and singing with it, I realised i wasnāt the only only absolutely loving this.
7. Joris Voorn - Ringo, the melody in this song is one of my favorites ever. It hits such a melancholic spot in me.
6. Paul Kalkbrenner - Feed Your Head, I can write 4 pages about how much I love this track. It makes me feel so much love. When paul played this at DGTL a few years back I was overrun with emotions, not sad tears, but tears of beauty.
5. āInnerbloomā by Rufus Du Sƶl is for many of us a track that hits us so deeply, I think everyone that loves this track had a moment of tears with or about a loved one. What a beauty this is.
4. Caribou - Canāt do without you. In the hay-days of me raving this was THE closing track. It has always been an anchor in my mind: āone day I wanna make a track like thisā.
3. āBeautiful lifeā by Gui Boratto, this one wow, the ultimate feeling of joy. Sometimes u realise later how much u love a record. I was at a coffee place and this came on and i got that insane rush of happiness that rushes through my mind.
2. This one āAll that mattersā by kƶlsch has the most special place in my heart forever. ā¤ļø
1. there is only one track that could be on 1, and thats yet again paul kalkbrenner. Sky and Sand played a huge role in for me. It gave me soothing in one of the most difficult times of my life, and still years later can bring me to tears.
For my upcoming 10 hour set Iām sharing some Top 10s of my favourite records to play. Making Top 10s is impossible⦠but I tried. Starting of with my: Top 10 classics
10. First my favourite hit when I started clubbing. The legendary: Tod Terje - Inspector Norse
9. Oh man, the memories of this absolute unique and beautiful remix bij Mano le Tough and Tale Of Us - Primitive people.
8. There is this video imprinted in my mind of Job Jobse playing this, in the glory days of innervisions, everyone was playing it. Sweet Trouw memories.
7. This remix of the bicep legends brings the
dancefloor to higher levels every-time
6. Another innervisions hit at the time, acamar by frankey & sandrino is one of my absolute favorite tunes ever
5. Golden girls - kinetic (FrankDeWulf remix) i remember this playing this during the marktkantine closing at the secret stage, man the memories..
4. Guy J - Lost & Found. I could post so many guy j tracks here, but it started for me with this beauty.
3. My favorite electronic artist of all time, david august. In his dance-prime, making music that stood above everything else, like Epikur.
2. I remember hearing someone playing this in de school, i was at the bar and dropped everything i was doing and rushed to the front. It hypes me up like no other track.
1. Those who experienced longer sets of me know I love to play this as a closing track. And I want to make my own remix of angie stone so badly, but never dared to touch this beauty. But next week might be the time :)
13 years of DJing. Now, for the first time: 10 hours.
Iām beyond excited, and it seems like you are too.
This will be unlike anything Iāve ever done before. For the first time, I have the time to build, to go deeper, and to tell the full story I want to tell.
Probably, 20 years from now, Iāll tell my kids: that was the first time I truly felt what DJing was meant to be.
Iām beyond excited. š

13 years of DJing
Doing my first 10 hour set feels like a milestone in my journey.
When I started DJing and making music, I could only dream of the things that have happened over the years. Sometimes, while chasing the next goal, I forget to look back and feel gratitude for what is already there.
Preparing for this show makes me reflect. Iām grateful to everyone who believed in me, booked me and supported my music. But most of all, you. The listener. The dancer. The fan.
Thank you for being here. ā¤ļø
