As a dancer, I get this question all the time. «Is that a real job?» «What’s your real job?» «When are you going to get a normal job?» «Do they pay you for that?». If you’re a performer or a drama student, I bet you can relate.

These questions mainly come from people who don’t know me, but also from friends and family. People worry about me and my career while they see me traveling where I want, living in the apartment I want, in the city I’ve always wanted to live in. I’m cooking and eating the food that I want, spending time with the people I love, taking part in projects that means something to me.

All this, while doing the job I absolutely love. The job that I trained my whole life for. But now, they want to see me doing a 9 to 5?
