When we took these photos last summer at the Green House and then I moved out (and semi left Portland) in September, I wasn't ready to post this because I missed everybody too much, and the uncertainty about what came next felt overwhelming. These are some of my favorite people on the planet to hang out and make art with, and I'm already nostalgic for my years as a housemate to the ones I got to live with. But I'm ready to share these pics today; it feels clear that while I'm in a new era and so is our community, our relationships are strong; just since September we've found fresh opportunities to create together, support each others' work and play like maniacs. I'm gonna hold the faith that this gang will be creating together for years to come, probably in wildly unexpected ways, through whatever geographical or life changes come our way as individuals. Those future collabs might suffer from a lack of green jello, green juice, green cupcakes and green houses, of course, but....they probably won't suffer from a lack of delightfully deranged creativity :)

Awhile ago I worked on this beautiful short “The River is Everywhere,” shot over three days along the Columbia River and the Oregon coast. @dannycorey_dannycorey 's expansive, emotive cinematography makes me proud to be part of the film, as does the simple, moving script by director Bryan Kostors. The script in particular resonated with the challenging year I'd had just before being cast (a friend of mine watched it and said “...this is just a Zoe documentary” lol). Anyway, I'm the luckiest girl in the world, 'cause I got to combine two of the most beautiful things in my world; acting and the stunning nature of the PNW.

This past year, I did something that changed my life.
My dear friend @amovingportrait and I got the delusional, insane, exciting, deranged, wonderful idea to write and act in our own comedy webseries!
More and more people got onboard, including an excellent local producer, and before I knew it, I'd stumbled into directing a full indie film set for 12 packed days and 50-some pages of material. It was one of the hardest and most joyful experiences of my life.
Perhaps in keeping with our confident assumption that we could pull this off (how hard could it be? LOL) we’ve named our best friend comedy GOOD AT EVERYTHING– and as of yesterday, we are LIVE on social media!

(Belated) screenshots from the sci-fi drama "Goshen" I was lucky enough to act in last year!
We started filming back in 2021, so Goshen was one of my first opportunities to practice the adjustments in performance necessary to work on the screen after years in the theater. How lucky was I, to get to play such a layered, driven, confused character in one of my first films. Super grateful to our visionary director Noah for taking a chance on me when I was so new to the medium.
Can't wait to see where the film goes next!
