On the 22nd of July, 2011 there was a bombing in Oslo, Norway as well as a mass shooting on Utøya at an Arbeidernes ungdomsfylking (Worker’s Youth League) summer camp. A total of 77 people were killed, 69 of them on Utøya alone. Many of these victims were teenagers. It was the deadliest attack in Norway since World War II, and was carried out by a solo individual whose motive was to hurt the future of the Labour Party in Norway. The perpetrator was a deeply anti-immigrant white supremacist extremist who wanted to damage the political party that believes Norway should receive and protect refugees and asylum seekers.
I’ve never known what to do in the face of so much hatred of people on the basis of having a different background, ethnicity, culture, gender, or language than you. It’s something that makes very little sense to me. So in response to the violence, some of the staff at the summer camp Skogfjorden came together to make a song in memory of those lost that day. This is that song.

Just released a live performance of Fallen from the Stars with the beyond incredible cellist @rorowan (who has worked with Billie Eilish, Adele, Lorde, just to name a few 🤯) I don’t know how I got so lucky to get to be friends with Ro and play music with them, but I am so grateful to get to create together.
