A moment for the fit please 🙏😌❤️ it's been ages since I challenged myself with patterning something and this one was FULL of challenges. I wanted Stolas to have the bird prince fit he deserves, but still keep the core design elements. Most important is how the gold buttons and white stripes stand out!
For the white stripes I used crossed ribbon lace, edged it with some piping on either side, then accented with some white satin cording capped with gold (that I harvested from dollar store keychains lol). You can see the black blouse through the gaps in the crossed ribbon!
I didn't want any stitches on the top so I had to do some weird turning to sew the white stripes inbetween the main fabric and the lining 🤯
Every lace was picked because it looked like feathers, but the gold stripe separating the brocade from the main fabric I wanted to be clean and not super loud. It's for the impression of layers, like a coat buttoned over a vest. The chain is harvested from an old wego itabag, and the buttons are recycled from many cosplays before this one. they just keep coming backkkk
I think I'm getting really good at invisible zippers though because look at the center in the middle of the vest DAMNNN 😌💅💅💅
also that centre brocade piece is the same piece that becomes the high collar and wraps around the back of the neck. why did I do that??? it was so hard!!! idek I hyperfixated
The cape has a backpack strap made from the same material as my blouse so you don't see it, but it stays on without pulling at my neck or clothing. however I did sweat all over it so now I might have to unpick it to wash it lmao

Pendleton's fit is so simple so it was fun working on all the small details!! the ribbon around his neck is actually a puff tie design from the 1880s, same with the collar style, and I made the vest snatcheddd 💅💅💅
