Dirty Plates & Rootcreek (Reflective Sounds)
DIRTY PLATES, co-founder of Reflective Sounds, discovered his passion for Drum & Bass in 2005, when fast-paced rhythms and deep basslines became a constant in his life. By 2011, he was behind the decks himself, starting out at self-organized raves and private parties before moving on to venues like Berlin’s VOID, where he still holds a residency. With over a decade of experience, he has played across Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, and the Netherlands, from underground clubs to festivals like Feel, Artlake, Hive, and Neiphos. Since 2018, he has also co-organized a DnB truck for the “Wem gehört die Stadt?” demonstrations, linking music and activism – a commitment that continues today.
For nearly three decades, Jungle and Drum & Bass have been the constant, powerful thread in ROOTCREEK’s life – not just a genre, but a deep love, a passion, an obsession. Her journey began at a “Jungle Fever” night at Mannheim’s legendary MS Connexion – and from that moment on, she never looked back. As a longtime contributor to the underground scene – with years of experience across clubs and festivals, including Berlin’s VOID and events like Hospitality on the Beach and Sun and Bass – she has always worked behind the scenes to elevate the culture. With Reflective Sounds, she co-created a space where Drum & Bass fuses across styles, subculture thrives, and community takes center stage. Now, as Rootcreek steps into the booth herself, she brings all of that with her: history, knowledge, love, fire. Her sound is versatile, forward-driving, and emotionally loaded – groovy rollers, industrial breakz, UK jump-up, and dancefloor energy. Expect no compromise – just pressure, drive, and vibe.
“Organizing the Drum & Bass truck at ‘Wem gehört die Stadt?’ is our way of showing what music truly means: community, identity, resistance. By rolling through Berlin with DnB and unity, we protest gentrification, rising rents, and club closures – reminding everyone that this city’s soul belongs to its people. Let’s take it to the streets – loud, colorful, unstoppable – for a Berlin that belongs to all of us!”
