What to call this finish?
We’re nearly out of 21.5” Zero frames, so don’t dilly dally if you’ve been thinking about getting one…….we got these ones powder coated in a new finish that’s pretty close to bare metal but isn’t, also looks amazing, and wont rust. Those are on the webstore now. Hopefully we’ll get more 21.5’s in the future but it’s not going to be in time for this trail season!
Also……there’s only a couple of pairs of Black Ibex pedals available…..similar story with those. We plan to restock but it’s not going to be until the back end of the Summer now.
We’ve got to say thanks (again) to everyone continuing to buy our products. Starting a bike company was never going to be easy and most people probably thought we were destined to fail starting a “trail specific” bike company……we’re happy to say we wont be going anywhere anytime soon.
🙌🏼
If you’re a part of the trail scene you’re probably familiar with Jonny Faulkner @jonnyf7
Jonny has been the driving force behind Brockham trails for years. If you’ve ridden the trails (at the jam or otherwise) you’ve benefitted from his hard work.
Theres not much Jonny doesn’t do at Brockham
The trails have some of the bigger jumps in the country but also a freshly rebuilt small line, a pizza oven, and a hut with solar power and CCTV (yes it works). There’s also a resident sheep but that’s a whole other story.
Jonny recently built up this custom powder coated Four. He likes a BMX influenced set up with a Challenger stem, chromoly bars, custom DRG sprocket, Aitken front tyre (good luck finding those), and RNC ti cranks.
DM us if you’d like to get a custom colour/finish on your new Zero or Four frame.
If you ever been to Sheet trails it’s likely you’ve encountered Josh Byford (aka @piiieee ).
Josh has been one of (if not thee) the main guys for as long as we care to remember.
He’s not only handy with a shovel, a broom, and watering can. He sorts out most of the bureaucracy and insurance for the trails. He’s the guy ordering saplings, IBC’s and tarps etc.
Josh recently built this custom powder coated Zero set up. We love it when a bike suits the riders personality and the Sheet brown colour, with matching custom Meano seat, 36t Clover sprocket, and silver Ibex pedals does just that.
DM us if you’d like to get a custom colour/finish on your new Zero or Four frame.

A lot of you will know the story by now. For those that don’t;
The Four frame was not dreamt up by some kook in a sales meeting and passed to the marketing team to find a Youtuber to sell it.
The Four frame came about because trail riders at (let’s name them) Wisley, Brockham, and Leatherhead wanted to continue riding 24” DJ frames long after all previous supplies had run out.
We were confident that we could not only get them 24” frames to run but improve upon the previous options. We weren’t scaling down a ‘mountain bike’, we were scaling up a BMX…..without being silly about it. Having a 10mm axle disc mount hub with 110mm spacing would leave very few options but having a stronger ‘BMX style’ rear triangle made all the sense in the world, having a tapered head tube was obvious etc etc.
Doing a run of 24” DJ frames in 2023 made zero business sense as an independent new bike company……regardless we took a ‘leap of faith’ that other riders would share our vision and they did. Most of them had seen the same thing as us. They knew this came from the woods. Not from the boardroom.
This second run of frames is very similar to the first with a few refinements and new colours/graphics.
They’re available to buy now.
Thanks to everyone that’s supported us. We hope to see plenty of them getting laps in the months ahead!
Some brands don’t shout 👀
They just build things properly 🛠️
This is a trails-focused brand that pays major attention to detail!
Frames including 24” options, and pedals that genuinely surprised me in terms of quality 💥 🤝 Congrats to the guys over at @root_designs_ for some solid graft ✨

You can almost hear the parakeets🦜🦜 @bobcat666 and a balmy 🌞🌴table at @epsomtrails
So far as I remember Bob and Jon both wanted to get something more that evening. I only shot a handful of pics so this one got abandoned for a while….in August riding pics don’t seem anywhere near as cool as in January.
2025 was good to us but here’s to a better 2026🍻
Taking our team (and a convoy of UK trail bosses) to Belgium/Germany was definitely a highlight….old friends and new. Bar-b-q, camping, beers, 💨, and belly laughs all day (except when it rained).
Classic @jonnyf7 and @atttila.s shapes somewhere on the outskirts of Mainz.
Thanks once again to everyone who helps us to do this…if it’s putting in the hours at your local or simply liking a post. It’s all motivation to keep this thing rolling.
A massive thanks for your support throughout 2025.
Pics 2 and 3 are from Warmer times at Wisley. @jonnyf7 roastin’ as usual!
We’re going to close pre-orders on Four frames on Boxing Day and re-open them once we’ve shipped all those pre-orders (approx 2-3 weeks).
We’re going to keep the store open through the holidays but we aren’t going to be able to get frames collected EVERY day, so please DM if you want one sent for a specific time.
A big thank you 🤝 to everyone that’s pre-ordered a Four v2 frame.
Pre-orders will close on 26/12 and re-open once the frames have arrived and all orders have been cleared.
Our free tapered headset offer is only available on pre-orders.
Every frame is QCed (and the stickers applied) by us in the UK, so it’s never just a case of sticking address labels on boxes.
We’re shipping US orders PDDP. This means your shipping cost also includes import duties, so there’s nothing else to pay and no delays.
This service is also available to Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and Ireland. DM or email for rates if you’d prefer we paid any duties (in advance).
Bit of a throwback….Summer Brighouse session with @jonnyf7 leading @bobcat666 .
@jonnynemecek took a nasty fall on day one of the @beltway_trails trip. The upside is that Jonny is just as talented behind a 📷 lens as he is behind a pair of handlebars….so we get to see photos like one while it’s trying to snow outside.
When we started Root this would have been high on list of things we’d love to see. It still is. It’s been a good week!
These metal headtube badges were designed with the tapered headtube of our Four frames in mind.
They also fit regular BMX headtubes (see Jim’s below). We made them for our frames but if you’re behind what we’re doing (and want to rep something to reflect that) please get involved.
They’re supplied with 3M foam backed self adhesive.
On the webstore now.
Rather unique.
v2 Four frames are incoming and we’re very stoked to share the things you need to know.
They’ll be ready to ship early in January (apologies they’re a bit later than expected).
You can pre-order one now and get a free tapered headset included. Please note they wont be shipped until we have them delivered (most likely the week starting 5th January).
Those headtube badges will be available separately.
The v2 frame has the same geometry as the v1 (if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it).
There are a few of cosmetic changes (new colours, new graphics, and plush metal headtube badges).
The only other changes are;
We’ve updated the chain tensioners....they sit more horizontally which allows them to work with your axle sat further back in the drop out.
We’ve added a third cable guide under the top tube. This should eliminate any cable ‘pinging’.
