Together.
These past 5 years I have been so thankful for the family (blood and church) that have chosen togetherness with me.
Togetherness looks like something, and it’s humbling to feel cared for in such physical ways.
Whether it’s building a house, or a church community, or a blended family, I’m just so blessed by the ones who have leant in and chose togetherness.
PS: this house will be move in ready this summer and I will sleep for weeks.
They say it takes 100 Saturdays to build a house. It feels like it’s been about 500. But I couldn’t do it without my wonderful family helping me and cheering me on every step of the way. They are the best family work crew I could ask for. I love each and every one of you.
It’s my husband’s birthday and I CAN’T EVEN BEGIN to describe how much he means to me. Andrew might be building us a home, but he is my home, and his love is the best gift I never expected.
Andrew is not only my husband but a faithful friend, stable step dad, fun uncle, thoughtful worshipper, a total rock star at bass, and the most perfectionist house builder. He loves the snarky one liners and is a professional ‘huh’ sayer.
I’m just glad he’s mine.
Happiest Birthday and anniversary to my incredible wife. It’s been an insane year and I wouldn’t want anyone else to be next to me through it. Building a new house, going to shows when we can and finding joy in all of it. I love you @melanie_forsythe_lee and I’m so thankful you were born.
When Miami Vineyard asked me to speak at their conference and weekend services, we decided to make a vacation of it. What we didn’t expect was a hurricane, so instead of driving to Key West, we jumped on a cruise and took off in the opposite direction of the storm. So many surprises, so many pivots, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Here’s to life, in all her fullness 🚢🌴⛱️🌊☀️🧡
Andrew and I have been dreaming of building a home on our property since we got engaged. It’s been a labor of love with many twists and turns, stops and starts. This week however, the final building permit was issued and work has now begun. As I stood on the street, looking at the rough driveway that Andrew dug out, grateful prayers bubbled up from the deepest part of me.
I’m so used to the struggle, accustomed to the obstacles, accepted the delays, and contented myself with other things, that I almost forgot that this day would come. But here it is. The truth is; dreams really can come true, especially when your husband never gives up 💕
