Back by popular demand — the legendary Halloween video our family asks for every year. 💚
Seven years ago, my mom, Cookie — our beloved witch — got up at 5:30 AM to transform herself for her “witch duty.” After staying up past midnight gluing eyeballs to her scarf and prepping candy, she headed to dialysis at 9 AM, in full costume, broom and all, to hand out treats and smiles to every patient and nurse.
Halloween was her absolute favorite holiday. 🎃 She made costumes for all nine of her kids, always adding her own magical touch. This clip captures everything about her — her humor, her heart, her creativity, and her unstoppable spirit.
She may be gone, but her cackle, her sparkle, and her joy live on every October 31st.

Heartbroken to hear of her passing.
Of all the years I’ve been on set, one of my all-time favorite shoots was with Diane — truly number one. She was kind, sweet, generous, and had a light that made everyone feel at ease. I’ll never forget that shoot — she specifically requested to work with dogs, including my friend Veronica’s rescues,my two Clio and Jackson ,and her dog Beau. It turned out to be one of the best days I’ve ever had on set.
Over the years, every time I had the privilege to work with her on a Ruven Afanador shoot, she made it feel personal, warm and full of joy. She was one of the good ones — a beautiful soul, a true original, and a legend.
So grateful for those moments.
