Bit of a dream project last year to design and curate a gallery in a car park. “About last year. We built Glovebox, an unexampled, immersive gallery and cocktail lounge on Level 5 of Trinity St Car Park in Dublin City Centre. Our idea was to create a busy gallery, with the special atmosphere of an opening night, every night. Thank you to all our guests who supported this project, whether you attend one of our openings, enjoyed a cocktail, had a dance, or collected a new piece of art, we are very grateful.” @g.l.o.v.e.b.o.x will be presenting work in a new venue in Dublin again very soon
stay tuned.

We have taken over a unit at 16 Meath St in The Liberties, Dublin this week to conduct the research phase of the second edition of ‘Where do we all belong?’ Using this as a base we are also surveying numerous community groups in the area across the week. Please pop in, say hello and take a quick survey if you are near. The results of our research week will inform an art exhibition which will take place at the Bank on James St from 20-26th July during the Liberties Festival. Project commissioned by @miguelmyriad for @thelibertiesfestival with support from @dublincitycouncil

Commissioned by the Festival, Where do we all belong? is a socially-engaged visual art project addressing loneliness in the Liberties. On Wednesday May 13th & Thursday May 14th, Where do we all belong? will be researching attitudes and insights into loneliness in The Liberties. Feedback will be sought directly and/or via a questionnaire which will be distributed locally and available to respond, anonymously, online until the end of May. @wheredoweallbelong is a project by artist Ronan Dillon, was first realised in Sligo in autumn 2025, culminating in an exhibition in the @abhainn_studio Gallery in Enniscrone, Co Sligo. Where do we all belong? is part of the Liberties Festival 2026 which is part of @thelibertiescommunityproject . It is on from July 20-26. This project is a recipient of a @dublincityartsoffice Neighbourhood Grant scheme award. Artist: @ronodillon Film/Photography: @petermartinslens Producer: Noel Feeney @noels_nose_knows

A short excerpt from our 16-minute film ‘Where do we all belong?’, which explores loneliness in Sligo. This section was filmed across two farmyards and at the Farmers Mart in Ballymote. The full film has been screened just once so far, at our exhibition opening in October, and we hope to find the right opportunities to share it again in the year ahead. As Christmas approaches, let’s remember those who may be feeling lonely — it can be a particularly difficult time for many.

One of a series of assisted ready-made artworks by Ronan Dillon @ronodillon on show at our gallery. Tomorrow we will just be open for a half day from 10-1pm. Ronan will be at the gallery if anyone would like to call in and say hello or ask any questions. The short days of winter
 Plywood, acrylic paint, steering wheel
Drawing on the tradition of mobile rural services like travelling shops and libraries, we drove across Sligo gathering reflections on loneliness. From these quiet exchanges grew a visual art project about connection. The font Helvetica was chosen for its quiet presence. Its simple, neutral form speaks without drawing attention to itself, bringing together many voices as one. As one of the most familiar fonts in the world, it mirrors how loneliness can feel—everywhere, yet unseen. Open until Nov 15th, Wed-Sat, 10-6.

The salon wall is the biggest artwork in our exhibition. It tells the story of the entire project from research stage to art production and execution. It also features newspaper articles about the project, an interview with the Loneliness Taskforce Research Network and some results from our County wide survey. The film photographs were shot by @petermartinslens and the final selection was made from over 400 images. Pop in @abhainn_studio for a look and a read
