Hey yinz!! As many of you know, I have a big move ahead of me sometime at the end of this year. I have endless ducks to get in a row, and I have solo music aspirations (mainly taking time to make some gosh darn techno tracks).
In order to free up some time and headspace to accomplish these things and prep for the move, I will be stepping back from Persona/Jaguar after tomorrow’s party. I have endless gratitude for the journey Jaguar has been and all those involved in any capacity (DJs, dancers, Spirit staff, the list goes on). Thanks to Dave and Ash for being willing to try something new with me when techno was still a rather fresh phenomenon in my life.
Jaguar is not stopping, but it has come time for me to take a break. I’d love to see you on the Jag dance floor one last time tomorrow. I’ll be spinnin from 11-12 heating it up before Philly boys Nic Baker tear the roof off the joint!!
The grown version of this little dude who was likely listening to his custom mixtape with Cher’s “Believe” and a couple Eiffel 65 jams on it (thanks older bruvs ❤️) will be playing some techno at Hot Mass next weekend!!!! I love reflecting on how early exposure to pop dance tunes lead me down a path to really scary fast music.
But on the real, I am so honored to be playing Hot Mass opening for Juana, and I am so stoked to be doing so alongside Gusto, one of my favorite DJs in this city. :’) I was talking to some dear friends about DJing last night and truly, the reason I do it is because providing a soundtrack for others to get some sweat therapy is a divine experience. Best case scenario, you forget that I’m there and get lost in the techno sauce. Anywho.

Nic Baker operates at the intersection of techno, Baltimore club, footwork, and electro—pulling from underground dance traditions while pushing toward a modern, forward-leaning edge. The project emphasizes rhythm over polish, favoring punchy drums, syncopated patterns, and relentless momentum. No filler-just pressure.
Residents will warm up the dance floor before what’s bound to be one of the highest energy sets we’ve had yet.

Celestial Bodies: AQUARIUS SZN is next Saturday! I can hardly wait. So excited to have my dear friend and extremely talented dj @ron.mist joining me. 💜
Ron Mist is a Pittsburgh DJ with a big love for dancing and inspiring others to find joy in dancing freely. He’s been spinning in clubs since 2021, starting out as a house producer/DJ. Since then, his sound has shifted to mostly techno after having a spiritual experience at a Claude Young Jr set at Spirit Lodge in 2022.
In 2024, Mist joined Pittsburgh promoter/DJ crew Persona and was a part of starting their monthly techno residency at Spirit Lodge dubbed Jaguar. Playing alongside headliners such as DJ Seoul, WTCHCRFT, Lauren Flax, and many more has pushed and influenced Mist’s sound deeper into the underground. While he has a love for many sub-genres, you can expect his sets to be percussive, deep, and weave in and out of 4-on-the-floor and breaks.

1. Sweet Emily and I said our last big “see you soon” yesterday as next time I see her we will just be TOGETHER! She completed her master’s in particle physics, and we are two months away from the end of our 3.5 years of long distance. So proud of her and us ❤️.
