This 8M I want to commemorate by remembering the women artists of the past, this time through Beatriz de Dia (1135-1185), one of the most important Trobairitz of the 12th century, of which I interpret: “A chantar“. This piece in occitan language It’s the only surviving song by a female troubadour where both the lyrics and music have been preserved.
The Text says:
I will sing of that which I wouldn’t have wanted to,
As I complain so much about the one whose friend I am,
For I love him more than I love anybody else:
Neither pity nor courtesy, neither my beauty
Nor my worth, nor my spirit have any value to him,
So thus I’ve been deceived and betrayed
As I should be if I was unpleasant.

Este 8M lo quiero conmemorar recordando a las artistas del pasado, esta vez a través de Beatriz de Dia (1135-1185), una de las Trobairitz más importantes del siglo XII, de la cual interpreto: “A chantar”. Esta pieza en lengua occitana tiene la particularidad de ser la única canción de una trovadora en la que se han conservado tanto la letra como la música.
El Texto dice:
Ahora deberé cantar de lo que no querría,
Tanto me lamento del que soy amiga,
Pues le amo más que a cualquier cosa en el mundo
Pero no valen ante él ni la piedad ni la cortesía
Ni mi belleza ni mi valor ni mi juicio,

🎭 Geistliche Musik in einem Spiel der Commedia dell’Arte? 🎶 Wie soll das funktionieren?
Unser aktuelles Programm „Vanitas“ lädt dazu ein, über die Vergänglichkeit des Lebens nachzudenken. Es verbindet geistliche und weltliche Musik – und zeigt damit die schönen und die dunklen Seiten der menschlichen Existenz.
Heinrich Schütz schrieb zwar nie für das Theater, doch seine Ausbildung in der italienischen Tradition prägte seinen Stil tief. Seine geistliche Musik wirkt oft erstaunlich theatralisch – voller Affekte, Dramatik und Ausdruck.
Unser Ensemble möchte Grenzen überwinden – und Musik an Orte bringen, an denen man sie vielleicht nie erwarten würde.

Today I had the pleasure of having a singing lesson with Emma Kirkby 💕. What made it even more special was that Emma remembered me (even though I think we hadn’t seen each other in four years). I’m always amazed by how incredible and humble she is! To me, she is the greatest superstar of early music, yet so warm, approachable, and loving.
Thank you, Emma 😍, for once again giving me this opportunity, and for giving me the motivation and energy I truly needed this year. Also, many thanks to Thomas Langlois for accompanying me on the lute, and to the Deutsche Lautengesellschaft and the Lute Festival 2026 in Weimar for making this unforgettable encounter possible.

Every March 8th feels like a good moment to reflect. This year I do so from my perspective as a woman musician.
The question of representation has always fascinated me. And since life has allowed me to broaden my horizons, my repertoire will always include music by women composers — not as something special or different, but simply as an essential part of music.
I truly appreciate that this topic has become increasingly visible over the years. Yet sometimes I also feel a certain tension: that women composers still need to exist as something separate or “special”, rather than simply being part of the normal musical landscape, as I believe they should be.
My wish is that programming Strozzi or Jacquet de la Guerre in a concert would feel just as natural as hearing Monteverdi or Lully. That their music inhabits our repertoire with the same naturalness with which it should always have been there.
Today I also want to give myself a small gift and share some small (big) achievements. Imagine this: I have — almost, since a few bureaucratic steps are still pending — completed a master’s degree at one of the most important music universities in the world. A rather particular one, by the way: in singing and musicology. And of course, my thesis topic was none other than Francesca Caccini, one of the musicians I admire the most.
Sometimes it still feels incredible to be here: to be a musician and a researcher, living and studying far from home, in another language, in another world. And on days like today I think especially about all the women who came before us.
Thanks to them I am here today — researching, singing and telling other stories. And, of course, showing that it is possible, and that for a long time we were simply underestimated.
In honour of them, and in honour of those who come after us, let us continue reclaiming the spaces that were taken from us. 💜

was für ein unvergesslicher Abend ✨
Mit unserem Programm „Vanitas“ durften wir ein Konzert voller Lachen, feiner Zwischentöne und bewegender Momente erleben. Von der ersten Minute an war das Publikum Teil der Geschichte – offen, neugierig und mit einem warmen Herzen dabei. Es wurde gelacht, gelauscht und die Musik mit einer Intensität aufgenommen, die uns tief berührt hat. 🎭🎶
Für viele war es die erste Begegnung mit einem interdisziplinären Konzertformat, und es hat uns große Freude gemacht zu spüren, wie diese Reise zwischen Theater, Musik und Emotionen so herzlich aufgenommen wurde.
Ein großes Dankeschön gilt der wunderbaren Organisation @bkobrk , die uns von Anfang bis Ende mit Sorgfalt und Herzlichkeit begleitet hat. 💛🤍

Ein Programm voller Mystik, Leidenschaft und Hoffnung – all das, was mein inneres Erleben prägt – in der Musik von Hildegard von Bingen, Barbara Strozzi, Jean-Baptiste Lully, W. A. Mozart und Robert Schumann.

Hace una semana estuvimos participando (o, más bien, fuimos el objeto de estudio 🤭) en un proyecto de investigación en la cámara anecoica de la @sorbonne_univ que es básicamente una sala acústica hecha con un material que elimina todo el eco.
El experimento fue una auténtica pasada, tuvimos la oportunidad de explorar diferentes acústicas y poner a prueba nuestras voces como nunca lo habíamos hecho. Y, ¿sabéis qué? Es increíblemente desconcertante cantar con cero reverberación 😁
Estamos deseando que salgan los resultados y ver cómo nos hemos portado, pero aun habrá que esperar un buen tiempo ☺️

Heute: unsere Sängerin ✨ Romina De la Fuente
(🎭 Isabella)
Romina ist eine chilenische Sopranistin mit Spezialisierung auf Alte Musik. Sie studierte Musikwissenschaft und Musikpädagogik an der Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso sowie Historischen Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik Trossingen bei Gundula Anders. Derzeit setzt sie ihr Masterstudium in Musikwissenschaft und Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar bei Teresa Maria Winkler fort.
Sie arbeitete u. a. mit dem JSB Ensemble der Bachakademie Stuttgart (2022) unter der Leitung von Hans-Christoph Rademann sowie mit der Händel-Akademie Karlsruhe (2024) unter der Leitung von Jörg Halubek zusammen. 2021 war sie Finalistin beim Wettbewerb für Alte Musik in Gijón mit der Cembalistin Laura Mingo. Im März 2025 wirkte sie beim Konzert zum 340. Bach-Geburtstag im Rahmen des Köthener Bachfestes unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Folkert Uhde mit und musizierte dabei gemeinsam mit der international renommierten Harfenistin Margret Köll.
Weitere künstlerische Impulse erhielt sie in Meisterkursen bei Emma Kirkby, Ulrike Hofbauer, Bettina Pahn, Monika Mauch und Andreas Scholl.
Zudem vertiefte sie ihre szenische Ausdruckskraft durch Studien in historischen Tänzen und barocker Gestik bei Bernd Niedecken, Deda Colonna und Alberto Allegrezza.
In unserer Produktion Commedia dell’Arte verkörpert Romina die Hauptfigur Isabella – eine junge, träumerische und zugleich eigenwillige Frau, die tief in Flavio verliebt ist. Als von Pantalone behütete Tochter bewegt sie sich zwischen Gehorsam und Aufbegehren und sucht ihren eigenen Weg zwischen gesellschaftlichen Erwartungen, Liebe und innerer Freiheit.
Mit dieser Vorstellung ist unser Ensemble nun vollständig präsentiert. 💫
In der kommenden Woche geben wir euch einen Einblick in unser Projekt Commedia dell’Arte und erzählen, worum es in dieser Produktion geht. ✨🎭
