Last one from a long day for the Standard team, who started their morning off with Gonz bombing a hill and slamming into a bus…
After a full day down at the beach they ended up heading over to Brixton Academy with JJ, Cat and a few others for the UK Breaking Championships and getting absolutely hosed before coming back and finishing the night at our friend Sam’s flat on Coldharbour Lane.
Gonz was completely toasted and at one point lost his pants before eventually collapsing under a table, still grinning from ear to ear.

It was clear from the minute that the Standard team arrived that the Gonz saw the park through a completely different lens to everyone else.
He mixed up burly gaps with tech tricks like this tyre grab hop to fakey on the roll in.
Super stylish, and again something the locals who sessioned the park week in, week out had never even considered.

A few pics from when the @standardbykecompany team dropped by Brixton skatepark on their Euro tour back in 1999.
Apparently they’d been cruising around sessioning a rail at the end of the road when a local kid said, “You know there’s a skatepark up there…”
Jim Reinstra, Gonz, Rick Moliterno, Paul Osicka and the rest of the team showed up and proceeded to completely destroy the park, picking out lines the locals had yet to spot.

When we visited the legendary Great Ayton trails, it was all about Mike Hill and Ste Pressland, no one could touch them… so to then have them both land in Clapham for the Urban Games and to come ride our local spots was a real treat!
