Next month we'll be advocating for San Diego's people's budget, it's important that we understand and advocate in the spaces that can benefit our communities. Environmental Justice will play a critical role in getting more access to skateparks, skate spots, and skateboard supplies in San Diego communities that have the largest disadvantages.
There's a link in our bio to fill out a quick survey from the city of San Diego to collect the communities feedback on environmental justice. Please take 3 minutes to fill it out, and stay posted for future call to actions in the coming weeks.

We're looking for support from San Diego residents to get a skatepark made in Encanto! Please take 2 minutes & fill out the form we've linked in bio (bit.ly/encantoskatepark) we're in the phase were it's important to have community backing. This far, we've met with Encanto Park & Recs, and they're willing to work with us to get implemented into future development plans - the missing link is YOU, the community! Please share with friends, as we try to create more safe places in San Diego for the skate community. Special thanks to everyone that has gotten us this far. UNITY! ✊ #sandiego #skateboarding #advocacy #skateadvocacy
Friday, 11am at 6th Ave & Laurel St. San Diego activist and organizers are coming together for a prayer walk. We are not organizing this event, but we support and will be in attendance. This isn't about our convenience as constituents, it's about the safety of unjustly detained humans.
This route is one way, please prepare accordingly. @sdprotest@faithfaucet@simplyofservice@sandiegodrumline ✊ #community #abolishice #sdprotest
A virtual public meeting to share Alpine county park concept plans on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The proposed 25-acre park is located adjacent to Wright’s Field. Join 7pm Thursday: sdparks.org/publicmeetings.
A group of people under the name Preserve Alpine’s Heritage want to see the county reconsider plans based on resident feedback at the upcoming meeting. “We want to see a more appropriate park with less concrete, less invasive materials, more aligned with the rural location...."
SD SKATERS; This is your chance to amplify voices and concerns around the future of Alpine Skatepark!
Leucadia Skatepark Update: The City chose RRM Design Group to help design and facilitate the park planning process. Construction has started, the timeline for completion is February, there's no official update to the timeline as of now. For more info call City Clerk Kathy Hollywood at (760) 633-2603
Fallbrook Skatepark Update: Bid + Award Contractor selected in Spring, construction is set to start late Spring-Fall 2021. Timeline & more: http://bit.ly/fallbrookskatepark For more info call Stephanie Kopplin at 858-966-1344
Spring Valley Skatepark: Since the last webinar regarding the Spring Valley Skatepark design we do not have an immediate update on the Spring Valley Skatepark, it's almost time to start sending emails to the city officials involved, more on this soon.
Encanto Skatepark: Very very early stages of advocating for a skatepark in Encanto. We do need more skaters (+ all welcome) and locals of Encanto to join us in advocating the need for a skatepark in south central San Diego.
Awareness is the greatest agent for change. Being a bordering city with Mexico, it’s especially important that we pay attention to what’s happening at CoreCivic only 25 miles away from downtown. #abolishice #unity
*Updated: SD registered voters have received their ballot ~ If you're mailing in, make sure to send & have your ballot postmarked by Nov. 3. We made this guide to help skaters in our community better under the ballot & to let you know where we stand, as a skate community fighting systematic racism in San Diego.
We encourage focusing on local politics. We've never seen such a divide in this country, but as skateboarders we know how to focus on the core - our community. We aim to bridge the gap between skateboarding and politics. We need to come together and use our collective power to resist authority in the most effective way possible, and that is not just by voting, but by being an INFORMED VOTER.
Our mission at RFR is to share information, listen, educate, and stand in solidarity with the skateboard community in San Diego to fight against racial injustice and systemic racism.
The selections made in this guide are based off of skateboarder's best interest. Created in consultation with local activists pushing for positive change in our communities. Stay posted for a push to the ballot, Nov 3rd.
Our democracy relies on community members, with different options to collectivity work together. We encourage critical thinking, we don't want to be your only source for local political information, as no one source should be. We encourage comments, this isn't a place to attack one-another's beliefs; agreed or not - BUT it's an open safe place to have constructive dialogue. This is a community of unity. #sandiego #voterguide #skatersvote #rollingforrights
