Me and Jojo pulled off at this spot on a drive through the alps and hiked over, climbed down, dried it out, and skated it. We had no idea if it would work until we were in there—sitting in the car after we were done skating felt like a weird dream.
All the anticipation building up to it had been intense—Hoping it would be dry enough (or that it would be possible to skate wet), hoping we could roll over the cracks, hoping we would make it there and back before dark, hoping that certain tricks would work, hoping we wouldn’t lose our boards or slam. Nervous anticipation, then relief. Such a great feeling when a spontaneous mission like this comes together.
Out of every day on my last trip to France, this one brings back the most intense emotions.
