The spin at the end 😱 Which one is your favorite? I like both styles obviously..
This was filmed 3 years ago! One of my first collab on ice with my friend @shericaskates . We were curious to see how different skating skills would be when comparing two different skates and styles 😁
Whenever someone ask me which style is best, I tell them both! It all depends on what you want to do on the ice. Play hockey, do figure skating and ice dancing or simply recreational skating.. just pick whichever skates you like best and that are the most comfortable for you. I just want to see you all smile on the ice ❤️

You will never fall with the last tip 😱 Are you ready for your next time ice skating? All their fears were gone after seeing me fall. Here’s 5 tips your must know your first time on the ice:
1. Put your skates in a “V” before stand up. Make sure to lock your heels together. This will make you very stable for when you’re trying to get up. It will also prevent your feet from moving too much
2. Scooter Push: Bend your knees, point your toes out on the back skates. Your skates should be forming a “T” shape. Push off with the back skate and bring both of your skates together. Repeat and let yourself glide to move forward
3. Use your knee as anchor to get back up. When you find yourself on the ice after a fall do not rush to get back up. Simply get on your knees and put your hands on the ice. Lift one skate in front of you to be on one knee. Use that knee as support to push straight up and bring your other skate together. Make sure your skates are in a “V” as you stand up
4. Plow Stop: Bend your knees, scissor your skates, point your toes inwards and push your ankle out with your front skate. Try to shave the ice using your inside edge
5. Bend your knees! You can stop yourself from falling backwards by grabbing your knees

Check how they do it 😱 Have you tried forest ice trail skating yet? Trust me it’s always great ice over there. This is another reason why it’s my favorite place ever..
A magical 15km path of ice in the forest where all you hear is the sound of your skates cutting the ice as you immerse yourself in winter wonderland ✨

The last one is my favorite 🧐 Which one are you using to turn when you’re skating? I recommend learning them all so you can have different options to use and make yourself a better skater
1. Sharp Turn / Parallel Turn: scissor your skates and lean on your edges. Bend your knees to keep your weight centered
2. Heel to heel turn: rotate the back skate, lean in the direction you’re going
3. A-Frame Turn: open your skates in a wide stance. Transfer your weight on the opposite side you’re turning
4. Crossovers: bend your knees and push with your edges. You can also try C-Cuts. Trace C-Shapes with one skate
5. Carvings: skates together and switch your edges quickly

You can’t skip one step for this 😱 What is your current way to stop on skates? This one is a bit more advanced since it’s two stops combined into one hence why it’s the most efficient. Here’s how to do a Magic Slide in 5 easy steps:
1. Position
2. C-Cuts
3. Soul Slide
4. T-Stop
5. Combine all the previous steps

I was so lost at the end 😅 How do you stop when you are skating fast or not paying attention? I was running late for my flight back home..
This one is more if you want to wear out your wheels faster 😆 Nah for real the T-Stop is great to reduce your speed and I mostly use it when I don’t need to completely stop but just slow down. I combined it with a sharp turn at the end..

Secret tip at the end 😱 What is your current way to transition when skating? If you want to be a better skater you need to learn transitions..
Here’s 3 ways to transitions forwards to backwards and vice versa on skates:
1. Heel to heel step: Scissor your skates, rotate the back skate and the front skate after
2. Heel to heel carve: Same as the previous one but use your edges instead of lifting your skates
3. Small jumps: scissor your skates and jump 180 degrees by lifting your heels or toes if you switch to forwards

The last one is the most efficient 😱 Which one are you using to stop when skating fast? Here’s 3 best ways I recommend to learn:
1. Power Slide: using your inside edge on one skate make this one very stable and easiest for a beginner to learn
2. Magic Slide: uses both inside edges of both skates. Often used in downhill skating. You want your weight centered but to initiate the slide keep your weight backwards and eventually shift it forwards
3. Power Stop: using your corresponding edges makes this one the most efficient. Hard to master so practice at low speed before attempting this one at high speed

Secret tip at the end for fast skaters 😱 Do you still use the heel brakes on your skates? If so this is a way for you to not use them anymore by learning the T-Stop
1. Scissor your skates: make sure to keep most of your weight in the front leg
2. Rotate the back skate: point your toes out and keep an angle of max 90 degree
3. Transfer your weight to the back leg: wide stance for high speed and narrow stance for slow speed
