Putting ROKBOX to the test!
Will the glass break if we knock a ROKBOX Lite onto the cold, hard London pavement?
Watch and see...
Choose ROKBOX for superior artwork protection 💪♻️
Reporting in from Frieze New York 🥂 where ROKBOX LOOP crates are on standby to safely carry works to their new homes.
Thank you to our collaborators at Frieze, and our wonderful shipper partners @ganderandwhite and @dietl_international
The Frieze x ROKBOX initiative is lowering costs and carbon pollution for all Frieze art fairs. DM for details.
The recent news that London’s @nationalgallery is to undertake extensive conservation work to Titian’s Masterpiece, ‘Bacchus and Ariadne’ reminds of the ongoing care needed in collections.
Back in October, during Frieze week, we had an intimate tour of the collection to launch ‘Full Circle’, a new initiative from @cura_art_@rokbox@ackermanstudios and @soteria_conservation
Here, Dr Christina Makris shared her wonderful and personal insight into one of her favourite works in the National Gallery’s collection. According to the writer and wine consultant, great paintings don’t stay still, they grow with you. Thank you so much to @christinavmakris for her thoughtful and unique response to this work.
‘Full Circle’ is a network of art world professionals committed to nurturing a culture of thoughtful, informed, and responsible collecting. We champion consideration over spectacle, longevity over trend, and connection over exclusivity.
Through conversation-led programming, shared insights, and supporting resources, we provide continued guidance to collectors from acquiring a first piece to refining an established collection, and the consideration for moments along the way.
✨Stay tuned for more events later this year!
Faced with the high cost, waste, and logistical complexity of traditional wooden crates for museum art loans, Art Bridges partnered with ROKBOX to rethink fine art packaging. This case study demonstrates how ROKBOX is a reusable, more sustainable shipping solution that streamlines operations, reduces environmental impact, and improves the efficiency of artwork transport.
With many thanks to the Art Bridges Foundation team for their pragmatic and
enthusiastic approach, and for their help with this case study: Andi Phillips, Max
Strauss, Amy Zavecz, Megan Valentine.
Thanks also to all the loan partners who are integrating reusable and circular crating
into their practices.

Thank you to Paul Embleton (@_the_art_of_installation_ ) for his fascinating Substack article on innovations in art crating, and the review of ROKBOX LiteHD.
‘We are sending artworks around the world constantly, and we always will be. That responsibility - to the works, to the institutions, to the environment - means the crating conversation is one this industry needs to be having all the time. The market is developing. The products are getting better. The thinking needs to keep pace with both.’

ROKBOX will be on site at Frieze New York from 13-17 May 2026 💥
As galleries prepare for the fair, a subtle shift is taking place behind the scenes, and it’s changing the relationship with the status quo.
The rising cost of shipping is a familiar challenge for galleries; it adds financial pressure, particularly when exhibiting at art fairs. In response, Frieze is collaborating with ROKBOX LOOP to lower shipping costs for Frieze participating galleries.
Email us at [email protected] ahead of the fair, and come find us at Frieze to learn how you can save costs and carbon by shipping art with ROKBOX LOOP 💪
From bold net zero targets to climate conscious practices, leading UK institutions are stepping up for real change ♻️💚
These institutions' commitments remind us that preserving culture and preserving the planet are not mutually exclusive.
What a week 🌍 We kicked off at Dietl’s ‘Sustainability in Practice’ at the British Library and ended with a speed packing challenge at Christie’s Earth Day event.
Grateful for all the conversations; feeling inspired and challenged. There’s more happening behind the scenes than meets the eye and some people are pushing for real change, quietly.
That’s not greenwashing, that’s green hushing 👀 and a reminder to stay connected with other organisations to avoid duplication (easily done with stretched budgets and teams, thinking you have to do everything in house when there solutions already exist).
Lesson from Earth Day 2026... more collaboration, less stress 🤝
Thanks to our partners for welcoming on stage at their events:
@dietl_international@christiesinc
Every day is earth day at ROKBOX, but each year it gives us a moment to review the progress being made by our wonderful partners and clients.
Moving from the old ‘make-use-destroy’ model of fine art packaging to a sharing and circular model doesn’t happen overnight but our impact figures show that significant change is under way.
By choosing a reusable ROKBOX crate over a single-use wooden crate, museums, auction houses, galleries and collectors have stopped:
28 tonnes of single-use packaging waste going to landfill,
And saved 64,000kgs (64 tonnes) of CO2e.
This means:
Less pollution in the air we breathe 🌸
Fewer toxins in our waters, soils and crops 🪴
Reduced chance of extreme weather ⛈️
A huge thank you to our collaborators, and also to all the museums, galleries, auction houses and collectors who favour ROKBOX technology and climate innovation.
Our impact is small, but growing.
We had a wonderful day visiting artist Jeremy Hutchison’s (@jeremyhutchison ) beautiful London studio 👏
Jeremy has exhibited at the ICA, V&A, Modern Art Oxford and Lisson Gallery to name a few.
Stay tuned for an in-depth profile piece of Jeremy’s work and career 💚
In the April edition of ROKBOX’s newsletter, The Circular, AI plays both villain and aide: powering forged artwork documentation in an increasingly sophisticated fraud landscape, while quietly helping galleries streamline their day-to-day.
Send in your saint or sinner this month to have it featured in the ROKBOX newsletter and win a ROKBOX Sharpie 💚
